2nd anniversary

Well, here we are in a new year and my QPV 2nd anniversary is approaching
So
I am sorting out :-
MOT (in hand, with new front discs to be fitted) in early Feb
An under tray may be required too at the same time. Any ideas how much this would be?

Warranty due in March, presently unused (thankfully)and with Warranty Direct. Memory tells me this was about £1200 last year
I wonder if you guys can advise other alternatives / costs etc

Insurance presently with Admiral for £225, I will be trawling the comparison sites soon (oh joy)

This second year has been perfect from the car POV really pleased.
I will do a running cost thingy again over one year and over two
I will post around March time

Any advice is appreciated and thank you in advance

I wouldn't waste my time trawling for insurance at £225 , sounds like a bargain

Dave if it's any help I took out a warranty with WD for the GT when I bought it, took a 3 year one with betterment clause removal and worked out about £95 a month so based on that I reckon you will probably be looking at around £1200 ish again.

My 12 month warranty with WD was about £1,400 with betterment removed so sounds about right.

Try Topcashback (or Quidco) if you switch car insurance, you can get about £70 back. Might also be deals to be had on warranties, haven't checked...

Thanks PR (Where are you based?)
I usually do all that stuff via Martin Lewis website which I have found to be very good and it has saved me money too
I will update everyone as we go

Oh yes my mistake
Apologies
Don't know if you have kept with my threads but there are now a couple of Masers in the area.
A Black GT at the top of our road
another Black GT (maybe) in Grey Towers estate - under approval, we should know in about 3 weeks

What is "Betterment" - Just did a quote for mine £1142 and they have to inspect the car first.

Yes
Last year Warrant Direct sent a guy out to me from 'North of England Area'
He was pleasant enough, He checked
how it stood on the road
tyres
took it for a short drive (with me) flicked it into manual and a few other bits and bobs
No great inspection though. He filled in a standard form took some photographs and that was it
Lasted about 30 minutes
Next day warranty was in place

Dave Betterment is that is a warranty company would be replacing a used part for new they are improving your car as opposed to returning it to the same state. What they do is have a table hat shows the contribution you'd have to make towards parts only (labour is not affected), something like car up to 5 years old they pay 100% of part, car 6 year old they will only pay 90% of the part and so on. You can remove it for a small fee whereby they pay the lot.

My car was inspected by some old bloke who asked how the paddled worked before driving her, yes I cringed

My second anniversary on 18th of QPV ownership and as the weather is cr** I have looked at my running costs for both years.
I have adjusted my financial year to be February to March and in the first year
the cost of ownership was £5953.94
The second year it was £3703.91
I have estimated petrol and included cost of spares and work done and service etc
The first year included £1100 Warranty which I am not taking this year and £423.42 for new front discs and pads as big tickets

On the whole I am very chuffed, I have a great car, a nearby good indie with a plan for upkeep such as wheel dressing

Out of interest and as a comparison my workhorse Kangoo has cost me £2453.49 this past 12 months - this is now approaching the knackers yard as I am winding up my company and it will be surplus to requirements. It too has been a great family car in its way for the last 14 years with 12000 miles now on the clock, good basic engineering imho
