2026 - Fantasy F1

Interesting race but a pity Max went out at the start, it would have been great to see him try to catch Antonelli, two mega talents versus the walls. The two that disappointed were Leclerc and Russell, when the pressure is down they seem to wilt. Also interesting to see what is going to happen to all those penalties as Alpine measured the pit lane and it was apparently out, so I guess another disappointment was the FIA but that’s not new - and it won’t change as Sulayem wants to play dictator and get rid of term limits. He will probably succeed as well as he can throw money at all the poorer member counties and buy his way in. Pretty disgusting, the same as the FiFA and the IOC. How will that eventually be solved in an equitable way?

It would have been nice to see Max against Antonelli but I think the result would have been the same. Russell never does well at Monaco and I have always thought Leclerc cracks under pressure.

There did seem to be an issue with the pit speed limit sensor too many drivers got caught out even if the speed limit is less at Monaco but my biggest grip is the time it takes stewards to issue penalties. They have the footage check the infringement and apply the appropriate penalty. I accept some might take a bit longer to review from different angles but it should only be a matter of minutes at most. If teams want to challange the penalty then so be it but issue it and then review at least everyone thne knows the situation.

Been saying that for years, as you probably know. ;)

With MotoGP it all starts with positive disciplinary action from Race Direction in the lower ranks Moto2 and Moto3 and even the Spanish CEV (De Facto 4th World Championship) .
The human risks are far higher in the lower classes as bikes are equal in power and the racing is far far closer and you have to deal with spunky young kids and pushy parents (rich with entitlement issues in some!)

Race Direction have been very consistent, transparent and rapid in applying in-race, post-race and even pre-race with free practice and qualifying infringements.

Despite the politics, off track with heavy Spanish influence of the series, Race Direction have never been influenced by the organisers or the FIM, unlike F1.

When will F1 catch up?
 
Having seen what Hamilton was wearing this weekend as he gets more bizarre as time goes on got me thinking of a Great driver from my Generation.FB_IMG_1780912710515.jpg

You gotta feel (just a bit) sorry for Russell - although he came out on top of Antonelli, it is clear that it’s an uphill battle and he must have taken a huge ego hit. Nice that Namilton got his Ferrari win and a bit ironic that it was because of Alonso retiring. I’m not seeing him repeat that too often, it’s Ferrari after all, but I could be wrong. If it wasn’t for Antonelli and Leclerc not finishing I’m sure we all would have had a boat load more points.

With 5 straight zones and only 12% of the track under braking battery use and regeneration will be key. There is likely to be a lot of yo-yo effect as drivers deploy at different times.
