...so I picked Leclerc for pole and the thing says I'm wrong.
Let’s keep it that way ;) It seems Lewis was not the only beneficiary of George getting DQ’d, I was down to 7th with DLax69 up 3 places. That has now been reversed :D. I’m kinda missing all the outrage on here about the transgression which undoubtedly would have been there with some choice words had Red Bull been involved…..

Mercedes try to be sneaky and probably knew it would be an issue from what I have read as they weighted the car first and it was OK but they had left fluids in it which they are suppose to drain. Got caught out and paid the price which is fair and they are the rules.

that's because Max took pole and was then given a 10 place penalty. I think that is how they do it. If anyone had Max on pole they can confirm.
You are right - I had actually forgotten about that rule otherwise I would have put Max on pole

That’s because Horner would be saying it was the FIA who were at fault, Max would have told the team they were **** and Jos would have punched someone. ;)

Yeah I guess Mercedes sneakily leaving 2.8L more fuel in the tank to cover it up is a lot better ;)
Ah but that’s proper cheating!! I always find it weird how Tyrell putting lead shot in their cars is celebrated by fans because motorsport is about “bending” rules but if you use steroids in athletics you’re the spawn of Satan.

Sainz to Williams seems a strange choice over Audi especially in the medium to long term especially when you think how good they have beens tarting with nothing to dominating in a relatively short timeline in Rallying and Sportscars respectively

I think Merc shanked Lewis, but he got the last laugh.

Didnt audi change management last week? Maybe too much uncertain at the moment. Or not a fan of Binotto.

They did failure is not an option, not sure about Binotto though but apparently he has strong skills in building teams to perform within business so might be what's needed. As long as he stays away from the on track running where he seems less skilled.

Time will tell

Well that was an interesting race

So if Lando can out score Max by 8 points per race for the rest of the season he will be champion. Constructors Mclaren just need to out score Red Bull by 4 points.

All to play for and from the look on Horners face I think he knows he’s staring down the barrel of a gun, if they need some one to pull the trigger I’m happy to oblige

The only interesting thing about that race was how the pace difference Lando had over Max has gotten so big. Except for McLaren all the big teams seam to struggle from one race to the other, suddenly finding pace only to lose it again. For the rest it was probably one of the more boring races of the season. Norris has the pace but does he have the bottle? He has something to prove given his bad starts from pole, but all will be revealed at the end of the season.

Not to be argumentative, but not sure I'd agree. I think the race to race inconsistency is very interesting, as is the fact that these aren't repeat coronations. Impressed by Albon and Gasly, and Lewis TBH...and watching Charles keep Oscar at bay for the entire second stint was something else.

IMO there was a lot going on, Max got the jump on Lando but it was obvious the McLaren was faster and it would only be a matter to time. Lewis qualified badly and had to try something different if he was to get any points and getting those softs to last 20 plus laps whilst still being fast enough to pass on a notoriously difficult overtaking circuit kept the first half of the race interesting.

The latter part of the race had Leclerc and Piastri, Russell, Sainz & Perez fights until Merc decided to play a gamble that didn't pay off. Then there was the backend of the grid how long could Gasly hold on, is that Williams in Albons hands really quick, which of the Hass drivers was going to get bitten by those evil brakes, how much work is Newey going to have to do to get that Aston competitive.

So in my view hardly boring, if you just watching who was going to win maybe but I find races where there is something going on right through the pack much more interesting.

Oh and I loved the gimble camera footage
