2021 was a good year for me started at nearly 220lbs and now 185lbs so happy with but need to keep it there in 2022.

With that in mind I have set myself two challenges:-

Firstly walk a marathon each week, week 1 I got the in 6 days with a totally weekly walk of 32.8m
Secondly I got a voucher for some virtual walk/run/cycle routes so have 3 planned this year. Ring of Kerry 142 miles, Scottish North Coast 500 miles and finally Length of the UK 1082 miles.

Hopefully these will keep me focussed on keeping up the good work and might help me lose those few extra pounds, I would like to be under 180lbs for Le Mans which would be the lowest I have been in probably 25 years or more

Nice one Andy.
I aim to do 10,000 steps a day which is easily done often without leaving the property.
Good Luck to all trying to stay fit and healthy.

Great stuff, chaps …

I’m attempting my annual booze-free marathon. I’m on day 9, 90 days is my record, and I’d like to achieve 100 days if I can. I’m already seeing positive results with my weight and blood pressure readings.

Here’s to a healthy and happy 2022!

I too can easily manage 10,000 steps just around the property - but as I've just been diagnosed with osteoperosis (pretty common amongst the 'older' generation, espec for the 'fairer' sex) my doctor sister advices having a proper walk is more beneficial.......

Sorry to hear that, but it’s good you now know that you have it. A friend of mine was diagnosed with it in her late 30’s (she had a minor skiing fall and fractured her hip). I’ve heard that using your muscles has the effect of strengthening the bones they are attached to. Some health authorities used to provide exercise classes for osteoporosis sufferers. Oh the joys of being female!

My mojo is just gone. Struggling to get it back, but not going to be too ******* myself. 2021 was not exactly fabulous looking back. 2022 promises to be much better :)

I have got into the habit of going out for a walk twice a day each of 2 to 3 miles dependent on time and weather and I have found this to really help both my fitness and weight, also helps me dump all the **** for 30-40 mins at a time

Yep. I am getting out for a couple of miles a day, but thinking about it there no progress as it were. At least when I was running I could have a good run, or a bad run. Walking is just meh. Similar with the Zwift trainer cos I keep doing different routes. Perhaps I need to move over to the workouts.

Work outs and group rides are the best when you haven't got your Mojo on Swift.
Or start collecting the route badges. That gets kinda addictive. Although the ones I have left are a good 4-5 hours+ of cycling.

Yeah. My gentleman sausage couldn't take that, even if I had the time. Keeps getting caught in the spokes before anyone says anything else!

After dropping the lions share of 3 stone in 2020, approx 1/2 stone slipped on in the first 10 months of 2021 followed by another 1/2 stone in November and December .... 2 weeks all inclusive in Maldives, Xmas and no exercise.

Plan is to shift that extra stone and keep it off ... as soon as I have finished Xmas treats :)

As part of my 2022 Fitness plan I am doing a number of virtual walks of well known trails. First was Ring of Kerry 123.8 miles which I planned to walk in 42 days (average 3 miles a day, specific exercise walks not steps). Well I smashed that started Jan 1st and finished it last night averaging just over 5 miles per day.

Challenge 2 is a bit longer, 500 miles of the NC500 in 15 weeks which will be a bit harder to achieve.

Dry January is nearly over and I have started craving out time for the gym again ..... 6 nations will no doubt destroy any progress in Feb but as long as I am not putting on weight I'm happy.

SO January done - thankfully

Total of 166.5 miles of walks completed which is just over 6 marathon distances - happy with that but missed 12 Stone something by half a pound :(

Dry January over and will be celebrating with a beer and a curry tonight.

Haven't been to the gym as much as I had hoped but have lost 5 lbs all the same.
