Ok, feedback is that we should go for general admittance. If we can arrive at the same time then we will get dedicated parking together.
Where do you want to meet then Sir? And not your favourite doggers lay-by either!

Was looking at this a while back, wouldn’t have minded driving over for the weekend, unfortunately the local residents are out to make money while the sun shines, as the saying goes. £300 a night over that period and naturally the only decent hotel in Holmfirth has been fully booked for a long time, even though travel had not been confirmed back then. Can’t blame them, supply and demand, and because there is a motor sport festival on, fair enough, maybe!
But I can blame many others throughout the UK who have taken blatant advantage of the covid situation and the lack of opportunity to travel abroad by hiking up their prices for accommodation, that’s just taking advantage as far as I am concerned.
They have lost huge amounts as well, as a result of having to be closed.

Only if I lie about my height ;)

I mean I'd probably spend more in fuel to get there, but £60 for the two of us to wander around some cars feels a teeny bit steep.

Yeah agree. I imagine most people booked early. Can't see the public just turning up. I did the Shelsley one in 2019 and that was OK. Not sure it was £30 on the gate though. I did the Friday night, Saturday and Sunday breakfast meet so it was worth the travel.

Of course they have, absolutely everyone knows that. And now they are permitted to open up again, so why not do it without taking advantage of others who have been on reduced, drastically reduced, or no income at all for the same period. Why do they feel they can charge blatantly increased prices just so they can get more money back in the short term, I suppose that is business, but it’s morally unacceptable. I can imagine there were many folks who struggled to go on holiday in the UK before covid, now because of greed they just won’t be going at all this year. Anyway, that’s others not us, is it.

Re Saigon’s comments about people blatantly hiking their prices:-
Personally, I think it is great that everyone’s holiday £’s are staying in this country and will boost the economy. My over-inflated holiday let still has a few weeks available, great views of the English Channel and 2 parking spaces. And you don’t need to waste hours sitting in some god-forsaken airport to get to it.

Conversely there are a lot of others who have saved considerable sums not having to commute to work...its all swings and roundabouts.

We holiday for three weeks a year in England and have only seen a c10% increase in prices for both our winter and summer holidays... if they still take place.

I'd be up for this. Do we have a list of attendees so far?

Are we displaying and driving the run? I might bring my TVR along if it makes it. Would be a great chance to give it some beans in a relatively safe environment as am buggered if I'm doing anything like foot to the floor in that thing in the road!

You will have to park on the airport side then won't you? I imagine general admission is across the road in the field.

Don’t think so, but I’ll find out. They are happy for us to park together.

Oh, bu$$er all this faffing about with will they won't they events.
I'd be happy and find it more enjoyable driving from the Cotswolds to see some of your ugly mugs behind the forum handles at Ace.
Long drive as it would be, but great excuse.
About time I met some of you chaps after all this time.
Fine company and fine dining, what?
