Back on track this week....

31st October - 85.2kg @ 25.2% body fat
7th November - 85.0kg @ 25.0% body fat
15th November - 84.4kg @ 24.9% body fat
22nd November - 84.7kg @ 24.7% body fat
29th November - 83.9kg @ 24.6% body fat

Overall, this means that in November, I’ve only lost 1.3kg, of which 0.9kg is fat, and 0.4kg is muscle. That’s not a massive difference, but if I look at it over the two months that I’ve been exercising and not drinking (much) I’ve lost a total of 5.1kg, of which 4.3kg is fat and 0.8kg is muscle

1st October - 89.0kg @28% body fat
29th November - 83.9kg @ 24.6% body fat

Plan for December is to maintain the exercise, to drink like a fish, and hopefully be below 85kg on New Years Eve.

Well done Jon...Now enjoy that Whisperig Angel.

Was informed today that I’m eligible to join the Zipperclub. Anyone else here a member?
While I’m at it I might join the “double belly button” club as I seem to have developed another one (drain holes)!
Pacemaker clearly visible top left but that will be explained away as an embedded shrapnel injury from the Gulf War.
In other news my surgeon is delighted with my progress, 1 med has been altered due to side affects and I feel better already and I’ve managed to put on some weight.
Now 66.4kg and 10.4% body fat.
Steps are now over 10000 per day.78416

fellas keep up those fitness regimes. This is the toughest thing I’ve ever gone through and I’m glad I was in decent shape before it.
I can’t imagine how much harder it would have been if I hadn’t been.

Glad you are recovering well @Wattie

My father had a quintuple heart bypass around 5 years ago. As you can appreciate it was a major op... It really put the scarers on us and his recovery was not easy - I immediately made improvements to my diet/lifestyle lost about 30kg in the about 8 months.

Thanks Fifty.
Wow, that’s a helluva an achievement in such a short time- very well done!

Yeah its kind of a wake up call when something like that happens around you- especially if you have the sort of family genetics/history that seem to be coming home to roost with me.
Hope your father is continuing to make progress and keep up the good work with the lifestyle choices- it’ll vastly improve your chances of avoiding any nasty’s down the track.

Thank you, unfortunately I aint that old (55) and once I get my bionic hip(s) next year I will have been fully “overhauled”. Should be able to take up the family reins once more then.

I'm also 55 but don't consider myself as a younger fella anymore!! I guess 55 is the new 45!..............I'm guessing you were a sporty lad back in your teens/twenties and the hips have now caught up with you??!!

Unfortunately my hips appear to be made of the same genetic **** that my heart was constructed from.....hence the replacement requirement. I still workout 5 days a week (including cardio) which has certainly added to the wear and tear aspect.....Life’s lottery means I got the dodgy bits from the parts bin during construction!

I feel I ought to know this, but which part of the UK was home Wattie?

Spent some years in Harpenden and Bath when I was on missionary work dan saff.
My brain was constructed using parts from the Italian electrical bin!!

Back to the gym tomorrow after a month, can't wait!

The last three weeks I have been doing outdoor PT sessions on the green area next to my house so I haven't dropped off training but I find that I hurt myself easily with body weight/free weight training even with my PT looking watching over me and telling me when to improve form or stop entirely I find my knees hurt afterwards or my right shoulder is sore

I have delayed this week's session until tomorrow so it can be done at the gym with all of the equipment but I am going to be immobile over the weekend as it is leg day.

Fitness goals wise I am still declining in weight and losing the body fat I gained around 1 year ago when having a career meltdown. Down to 75.7kg which is around 7kg or a little over 1 stone off when i started weekly PT sessions at the start of september. Obviously working with a body builder PT gaining muscle mass is a given although I haven't increased protein intake to get stupid "gains" as I am not a fan of the bodybuilder look - I would rather have good lean muscle mass.

Have you considered trying another PT? IME you shouldn't be injured unless there is some kind of accident, or you're not communicating with the PT correctly and ignoring the warning signs. YMMV (obviously) but this sound sub-optimal.

Awesome progress, though. Well done!

The context of the sentence was around the last three sessions where it was outdoor training with no gym equipment other than 2x 5kg, 2x 8kg dumbells and bodyweight

They are historic injuries C which we have discussed at length. I think I actually hurt my shoulder again about a month ago while over reaching for something underneath the car while working on it which is pretty standard for me

It used to hurt all of the time before and when I trained solo I always injured myself to the point that i couldn't exercise again for weeks

In short, I have zero intentions of changing PT.
