All done and Safely home without any complications being found-I believe. Bit tender but feel fine. Very odd being awake whilst they carry out the procedure. The tech in that theatre was amazing and the staff and care exceptional.
Round 2, October.

Oh, what a morning!
Not a great sleep but 7am and up and about for little uns school.
Walking across the lounge and I feel a “pop” in my groin. Looks down and it’s swelling up like a tennis ball.

Oh Feck!!!
Babe, babe I think my wounds just burst.......”panic”
It’s getting bigger and bigger by the second.
( when they do the angiogram they go in through the femoral artery)

Mrs runs around trying to find hospital notes, meanwhile i’m Now lying still on the couch putting pressure on it. scary.
She Calls hospital number I was given, girls useless......no advice, wait until dr gets in....wtf!!!, calls ambulance 0710..... more pressure on area......still swelling.
Both now applying pressure......but feel ok.

0730, no ambulance......feel ok, swelling stabilised. Wheretf is it?
Mrs calls back hospital, speaks to a different girl who puts us through to a nurse, situation explained, many questions asked and over phone advice given.
Still feel ok, which is good sign.

Finally 0820 ambulance arrives!

Good guy. By this time I’ve long realised I’m not in trouble and the swelling has started to subside......surgeon called, situation explained, Vital signs all good-not a problem......lie down for 2 days and let artery heal.......this can happen.
Take it even easier....

I thought my number was up.

A close call! So glad it came to a happy ending. Enough so that I can share (without sounding completely like an insensitive psychopath) that all I could think of was this bit:

Glad it all turned out OK Wattie - I can imagine that must have been proper stressful!

For the next two days it sounds like you need to lie in bed and have the Mrs look after your every need, whim and care... maybe you could ask her to put on an appropriate nurses uniform and take some pictures as she does it??!

p.s. I know it’s poor form to be lecherous about another man’s wife, but is meant in jest and thought it might make you laugh...

That's appalling - It's bloody lucky it wasn't serious.
Yup I was seriously worried for a while. Apparently the ambulance is stacked on keywords u use when describing the problem-from now on we’ll be exaggerating the **** out of anything if we need one ever again.... as femoral, bleed, Big swelling angiogram clearly wasn’t enough!!!

Blimey mate looks like you have had a kicking from somebody.
Take care and make sure the wife doesn't kerb the wheels on the new motor.
On the plus side a good time to be a milf hunter on the Gold Coast ;)

My end of month weigh in shows me reaching a truly remarkable milestone (for me) ..... i have lost 3 stone this year :)

To 'celebrate' I decided to try a 10k run for the first time in about 15 years and amazed that my mind managed to trick my knackered fat rugby playing body to run that far without stopping. Didnt quite crack the hour mark but super pleased all the same.

The proper liquid celebration will occur later....
