Anyone else out there using intermittent fasting this year? I’ve taken it up not just for the weight control benefits but also the supposed benefits at staving off various cancers (a frequent cause of demise in my family.) can’t say I’ve had perfect discipline but doing 16 hrs off of eating, 8 hours on, and making those meals sensible yet satisfying.
So far, far easier than straight calorie restriction. Another unexpected benefit is just how sensually satisfying that first meal is. I’ve actually been giving my dogs a midday treat of chopped carrots and savored a crunchy carrot as my first food of the day myself. Oh my.. forgot where I was talking, and here I’ve let on that I’ve savored a carrot.
Short story long, happy to chat about it, and the science behind it, as I’m a bit technical by nature. But this works quite well for controlled weight loss, and has many associated, and well proven, health benefits. Wish I’d done this whilst on those long overseas deployments where routine is easier to reinforce!
