Similar for me, but worse. Been to the gym everyday, eaten sensibly, put on 4lbs. WTF? I blame the scales...

I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but body weight does change a lot. I know that every night I loose roughly 3 lbs, although my record was 9lbs.....

(this is going to go downhill I can tell!)

4lbs is a lot of muscle (about 2800 kcal 'worth') Fluid is more likely IMHO (although you're probably better versed in this)

Bit of both I suspect. Keep doing the thing Ewan- your results have been pretty spectacular so this is a minor blip...it’s not always about weight loss. A changing body shape is aesthetically more pleasing.

Zagatoes (Andy) massive well done.

This thread is great, I have achieved no where near what i had intended to, but coming on here gives a bit of inspiration.

Unfortunately the 2 bottles of wine, followed by a Burger King, that i had last night are not helping my cause...but I did have fun. Will try and be healthier today, but that will end at 6pm...as I've got a pre-ski trip social planned tonight.

I go out 4 nights a week on average, it usually always involves beer or wine. I'm trying to switch to wine, as its slightly better than beer - calorie wise. But it gets me more sloshed than beer.

Vodka/Gin with slimline tonic would be better but...if i drank that at the rate i tend to I would be sloshed.

I don't want to stop going out - I enjoy it.

I'm thinking wine is the best option?

They're all pretty bad, but weak V+T with bitters can make it taste stronger, and reduce the slosh rate.

Driest wine you can get. Prosecco for example has marginally fewer calories (also lower alcohol content)

vodka soda and squeeze of lime is pretty good....some of the low/zero carb beers aren’t bad too.

But if I was to drink say 8 pints on a long night out...I'm still on my feet and able to have a conversation.

8 shots of vodka....I would be on the floor i think.

I find with beer I know exactly where I am. Wine gets me hammered very quickly (as I tend to drink at same pace as pints) and I feel sh!te in the morning.

Spirits and mixers just prove to be bloody expensive on a night out (one shot = 1/2 a pint)
