A work colleague has just asked me if I have lost weight - it was a somewhat backhanded compliment as he followed up with "you don't look as fat as you did at Christmas party" but this is always nice to hear.

And a reminder that weight is not everything. I have a feeling that my weight will not have changed this week but the tape measure will hopefully confirm what my shirts are saying.

Had the same yesterday and my shirts certainly are feeling less strain ;)

So two months in and progress has been good although still not quite hit Checkpoint 1 of 22lbs loss but close enough for a 2 month mini celebration tonight. It's not been too hard set little challenges along the way have made it easier, below 15 stone, loss first stone, get under 200lbs etc. been checking BP along the way and that has been relatively stable despite the local quack here wanting to up my medication.

Need to complete Checkpoint 1 (hopefully next week) and then Checkpoint 2 which is 13 Stone 7lbs and finally Checkpoint 3 be under 13 Stone. Hopefully I can get to 3 before Indy but I would be happy if 2 was done and I was heading towards 3.

That's bloody impressive! 3 times what I've managed!

What's your height, may I ask, Andy?

C

A short ar5e only 5ft 8in but I have always carried weight between my neck and my stomach which is the hardest to move. However my shirts are certainly less tight as are my trousers, people at work have noticed my face is slimmer and my double chin has all but gone. The changes I have made are not too onerous, massively cut alcohol, only 1 bottle of wine this year, 4 days a week try to keep intake down to under 1400 calories, manage this most office days by going for a 2-3 mile walk at lunchtime which only leaves time for a quick bite. Exercise has not been as good as would have liked, do the 7 minute work out most days and run up stairs at home and work where ever possible. Would like to get out on the bike more but the weather has been a bit limiting there but hopefully as it improves I should be able to up this effort too.

Overall quite happy, just need to carry on and get to where I would like to be.

Not sure, certainly less stressful here and now I'm not flying back to the UK every week things have settled into a stable routine. As we live over 5 miles from the nearest takeout and no one delivers this far we have cut out a lot of lazy Indian, Chinese & Italian, we cook more local stuff, especially veg, which one tastes better and two is probably better for us. Lifestyle here is much more outdoors, so regular family walks on the beach or woodlands at weekends, with a coffee in the local pub rather than a beer. All little changes but they mount up and I doubt we would have had the same incentives in the UK
