Morning all,
Thanks for asking Adam - I’m still not 100% sure what I’ve done to the shoulder, but have now seen a consultant and had an MRI scan. Hopefully I will get to talk the consultant again today and find out what’s what.
He did some further tests that (although they were painful) indicate that 3 out of 4 of the rotator cuff tendons are still attached and working... he was pulling and twisting my arms all over the place, and apparently if the tendons weren’t attached I wouldn’t feel as much pain and wouldn’t be able to resist such movements.
I still have limited ability to lift my left arm up in the air without using my other arm, and once it is up in the air I can’t apply any resistance to stop it being pushed back down. This means there is one tendon on the top of the shoulder which he thinks I may have damaged, but he wants to check - sometime this is almost stunned for a few days until swelling reduces and it pops free again...
In more positive news, I’ve managed to do an hour’s easy riding on my turbo trainer the last three nights, and I weighed myself this morning and was 13st 5! I’ve also managed to avoid the temptation to have any alcohol, which is bloody remarkable...
