Keep it up Newton and Dan...great work. Any move in the right direction even by 1% is a win. Try not to want too much too quick. It is about long lasting results and changes.
One thing Newton I have done as I'm similar in that I struggle to pass the fridge or kitchen without snacking is replacing the type of snack. I bought a job lot of plain blanched peanuts with raisins and dried apricots from Holland & Barrett. Whenever I feel the need to snack I have a small bowl of these. Not perfect I'm sure but so much better than cakes/biscuits.
I also used to have a biscuit or two with tea at least once a day. Again I have replaced this with nuts, apricots or similar.
I have also stopped eating crisps other than special occasions.
I have only done 3 bikes rides so far and never expected that to help with weight loss. Just wanted to feel a little fitter and sharper.
I am sure the biggest impact as many have said is what you put in to start with. Get that nailed and you are more than halfway there.
Even little things such as sugar in tea/coffee. Ditch it and over time you won't miss it. I think that is key for me to ditch stuff I don't need and I know is not good for me but to replace it so the mind is still happy. It seems to be very much a 50/50 mental as well as physical thing.
Easier and realistically achievable stepping stones and little steps. Over time adds up to so much more.
