hi there,

I have a new toy, wow what a car.

a quick question,
my car has extended warranty that will soon be running out. recently the CHECK ENGINE light came on, I read the code(secondary air, or something along those lines)then cleared it.

after a few short drives it came on today again, my plan is to contact the dealer and have the issue sorted. does anyone know what causes the code and the permanent fix ?

It’ll be something to do with the secondary air pump system. It comes on during cold starts to help heat the cats quicker.

Could be the pump, valves or control gear.

They’ve all got it, you can see the valves in this photo (the two silver cans in front of the valve covers).

It’s a secondary air fault no doubt. I’d check the rubber pipes for slits or make sure one has not come off as it’s a bit young for corrosion and degrading rubber..
