Bit of a long shot but anyone on here in the south east with the above (so one with the facelift bumpers but still the regular ZF auto, not the MC Shift)?

Be interesting to just have a nosy around it and try the seats!

TIA

Suspect Surrey doesn't count as the South-east, but I have a 2012 Auto with the Sports pack and the MC autoshift software. Don't know if the seats changed between 2012 and 2013?...

The facelift in 2013 changed front bumpers and seats..

I've being trying to organise a look at a local one for a while now but not had much success.

There was apparently one near Orpington but it has already sold despite still being advertised.

However, after I posted the above, I checked again and Motorline Maserati Maidstone have one as a demonstrator so I got over there today and I've at least tried one of those now, as well as a 4.2 previously. Many thanks to Damian / Damien there - top sales person with helpful and friendly non-pushy approach... I've used Motorline Nissan Maidstone before and they are good so I had faith!

Thanks JonW. The only one left to try is a 2012 with the updated auto changes like your one as well and Surrey would be fairly local to me (I only actually need to sit in the car for a while - doesn't need to go anywhere!).

So if you can spare an hour perhaps on Saturday when it suits you...?

As iainw states - the seats have changed from 2013. So for example, in the non-MC Shift 4.7 cars, you have one type from 2009 > 2012, a slightly different type in 2012 (like your car) and then with the facelift (new bumpers), they are different again.

Apparently it is the stitching which is different and they are pretty much the same underneath overall albeit the 2013 were supposedly re-designed. Whether they are different, I will be able to tell once I've compared.

The seats are totally different - the headrests are built into the main seat, contrast stitched trident in the head rest, and as you say the contrast stitching is a little different. I think the support and shape is different too - but I am sure there are enthusiasts on here who will know the exact differences.

The facelift (bupmers, seats, more power etc) was late in 2012, not 2013.

The seats are totally different too. I only had a brief sit in an earlier car but IIRC they were a bit harder and you felt more like you were sat on them than in them. I preferred the later style seats which is in part why I was keen to secure one.

I suspect with Surrey being local-ish that North Essex would be too far. But if not, drop me a line.

There are still quite a lot of 2013s without the facelift mods which I have never really worked out..

People are talking about model year and the GT Sport came in with the 2013 model year which is September 2012 production on.

Surely Maranello at Egham or H R Owen in Kensington have physical cars?

Thanks murph7355 - I've driven a 15 plate today as per my earlier post so I don't need to try one now.

Just to clarify - I mentioned 2013 to remove any ambiguity.

I am aware the changes came in sooner because I nearly tried to buy Nareman's beautiful 62 plate Sophisticato Blu one except I was beaten to it!

And Nareman, by the way, is a top chap and most helpful. Clearly enthusiastic and passionate about the cars - it's a pleasure to deal with someone like that.

I've also already been speaking to Maranello in Egham but they are awaiting two GTs having sold a recent 12 plate for what I consider a good price (which is why I feel the Med Blu one in AT is slightly overpriced but each to their own).

I can't be bothered to go to Kensington. I'd rather wait for models to turn up in more convenient locations frankly.

However, what you said there murph7355 may spell trouble and the end of my quest for a GT if earlier seats are harder...

I found the seats in the car today OK but gave me some grief.

Saying that, I'm tall and heavy but the result is the same in any case, although I am joining a gym to improve my overall core strength and fitness - so will see what that yields.

This is why I want to try a 2012 plate.

I guess these are old stock hanging around. My current car is a MY12 but registered as a 11/2013 car.

John - you're welcome to come have a sit in mine. I'm about a mile off J9 on the M25, and am sure we could find a time that suits next Saturday if you would like to? Do you want to PM me?

Also, completely agree with you about Nareman, and pity you missed out on the Sophisticato one.. that was a lovely car..
