Really? Depends what you mean by a 'major' service I suppose. There are 1 year items, 2 year items, 3 year items and 4 year items. I would expect major to be the 4 Year version. That is not £1000

Yes really :)

As above, I understand the only difference in 2 year and 4 year is the (optional) lambda sensor and carbon canister. A quick google will show a number of independents offering a minor service for £6-700 and a major from anything upwards of £1000.

But don't take my word for it .... why not ask any of the independents who sponsor this site what they charge and what they do vs MD.

Just putting this out there........

Maybe this is a topic for a different thread? That way we can let Shinds get on and advertise what looks like a well looked after car, which has been maintained at a main dealer with no regard for cost (including a bunch of “optional” or non-essential items)

Shindy is a family friend, and I can personally vouch for this car being a beauty!

It's in fantastic condition, and he's spared no expense in maintaining it. Beautiful interior and wow, what a roar it makes!

Whoever ends up getting it, will be getting a beautiful example of the MC Shift.

But why would you pay that when there are well respected independents who will do a major service for around £1000?

Correct; this was a 4 year service with lambdas etc. Agreed that you can get it done for less (which was a negotiating point with the MD) but it depends on how far you are away from an indie and how easy it is to get there, leave the car and go back for it. The car is only 5 years old so I preferred to get the MD stamp in case (queue discussion about benefits of this!).

think there is another topic about that car ...been on sale for at least 1 year !!!might be cheap for a reason????would you buy a cheap car that needs 5 or 10k thrown at it or have a car which is not overpriced and still under warranty, also does not need anything spent on it.

Shindy’s car is a main dealer, low miler, warranted car. The other as he says, being as polite as possible, is none of these, and is a 2 seater too.

I will second that. RG sold my aston in a relatively short time frame for 10k more than my best part ex offer. Pleasure to deal with and knows his stuff on a range of marques. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy or sell through him again. Really pleased you sold it shinds. What’s next?!
