2012 Le Mans Classic at la Butte Mouliherne France

Hi guys had an early request for this one to be put up , for those that have been before they know the accommodation and whats on offer , for those that are interested that haven’t been before take a quick peek at the

Classic itself is from the 6th 8th July but we need to take the house from the 30th june to the 14th July

Website www.fishingloire.com

www.lemansclassic.com

Basically a good friend of mine owns a modern 5 bedroom house in around 14 acres of woodland complete with a 5 acre lake fully stocked with carp and other freshwater fish, the house is fully equipped to high standard complete with a new huge barby, all fishing equipment is supplied in two caravans down by the lake .
The house is around 35-40 miles south of the le mans circuit and makes for an exciting spirited drive on the d roads to and from Arnage
Unfortunately this year my friend is running it as a serious business, the previous 2 years he has let us have it for the period required , but this year his week by week change over is Saturday 12 noon which means we would need to book the week either side to complete the whole of the Le Mans Classic in a gentlemans way rather than a mad rush , Having checked his sites prices for the dates required we need 2 weeks at a rate of £1250 per week , I have negotiated this down to £1800 for the 2 weeks if we organise our own change over of linen and tidy up etc

Up for grabs are 3 double bedrooms , high spec, 2 with on suite showers, 1 without but next to the bathroom with bath and shower, also there are 2 double rooms with 2 single beds in each, also the is a possible 6th bedroom /games room down stairs that has a double sofa bed if required

If your interested but not sure for what dates, register your name below on the list and we’ll see if we gain enough interest , it will work out Max £360 per couple for the 2 weeks plus contributing to food

1) Paul and Pauline
2) Loz and ( Kaz ………provisionally)

Regards loz

Loz, our plans are changing as our group has a lack of interest for the classics this year so we might only be 4, me, David, G and Dave Rose.

We have space for maybe as many as 14 in Ponvillain, 20 mins South of Le Mans, just the right distance. It is a farmhouse with a pool and B&B for €50 per person per night. It is stunning with secure parking in a rural setting.

Either way I think we will all be together this year, so put us down as a possible then we can discuss.

Ive just being going through all the garb to enrol Sportsmaserati as a club member to LeMans , there several advantages ie parking inside the circuit ,access to the pits paddocks and grandstand etc , slightly cheaper ticketing and the oppurtunity (optional) for a price of 140 euros to do some track laps on the saturday morning (excellent one time photo oppurtunity )

Thoughts anyone

Ohhh happy days,

Looking forward to this already and we have not even had Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Spring Hols, Summer Hols and many other events etc.

Looking at decals, fishing gear, sun cream, hats, telescope for watching the stars on a clear night, champagne bucket, Mas overalls, Steve Mcqueen jacket, Gulf racing stripes, where will it ever end!!!!!

For those who have been before be quick booking, for those who have never been to the house or the classic, get on line - Wonderful is the word!

I thought you had to be pre-69 to get inside the circuit? By pre-69 I mean the car not the owner ;-)

6) Lewis and probably not Sarah (though she might to see you lot) IF NOT TOO LATE!

Phew, lucky I saw this thread! Parking in the circuit is either for pre-66 cars or the ownership of one of these http://www.lemansclassic.com/en/happy-few.

I have the options of staying with the Marcos types (as that's what I'll take) or a private club run by a chap from another forum. Will probably go with the private lot as he sorts out track laps for me. Unless there's an SM club?

I've done the track laps at CLM 3 times now, it's an amazing experience to drive the full circuit - not to be missed at all! If you can do it Loz, then you really should, there's nothing like it. No helmets, no noise limits, no speed limits, just have to keep back from the pace car and pick your spots to nail it. Having an SM club would be great and all the Maseratis are 'happy few' as posted above.

We get an exemption for Marcoses every year :)

Hi All

We would be interested in a B&B get together if any space going ? Would be nice to convoy with SM members. We will be myself and partner + 1 female friend

2012 will be our 3rd time but now with 3200 :) The first time I went I was the support vehicle ( Subaru Wagon WRX ) to 4 x various Lotus's. I carried the tents and cooking bits as a Lotus can't carry a handbag !
Anyway, we bought onsite camping tickets ( Maison Blanche ) Great plot and good access. The benefit of buying a camping ticket is as others have said, you get almost full access and if you get a good spot you're just 100 yds from the track. However if anyone would like to join up please let me know. Otherwise we will buy a camping ticket for the access and parking reasons only and seek suitable hotac nearby or maybe stay in Deauville/ Honfluer. Any tips and tricks welcome on how to avoid parking in mass car parks miles away ?

Ps: Newhaven is our usual crossing choice.

Regards
Paul

I'll have a chat with Loz , im sure it would be okay to pitch your tent in the grounds or close to the house for as long or as little as you would like , obviously you would be expected to contribute towards the food and beer fund
