So

I have both baffle boxes having a nice little rattle and have had a temp fix but of course they are a million quid, so been looking around and totally confused.

Speaking to eurospares when they run my VIN comes back with part numbers 235638/235650 on the images it shows dual exhaust pipes not oval, so looking on the site they have 278087 https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Parts/278087/Maserati but this is listed for 2013 onwards.

Question is - are the correct parts 235638 but the image is wrong and exit pipes are oval ? or will 278087 fit ?

Not cheapest thing to get wrong lol

At that price I would be buying Larini or speaking with Jarens to open them up and fix the rattles.

I think the US and Canadian spec GT S had quad pipes whereas UK cars had twin ovals. Maybe somebody can confirm?

My understanding is that everything is the same bar the pipes at the back so either should fit. Did someone change you car from quads to ovals post delivery?

FWIW on of my back boxes rattles and I quite like the noise. It also shuts the valves slower than it shoud. Quite like that too!

Every GTS Ive seen for sale with this box has the ovals on but got spec on my build from the factory and no extra options. I have option to purchase two second hand units but black tips and different part numbers, but it seems the 4.2 and 4.7 with zf box have twin pipes and the MC shift has ovals... maybe wasn't as standard on 2009 models then became that from 2013 onwards... confused you will be ha ha

Before you buy new backboxes, check out SportsItalia. I was staring down the barrel of a set of new backboxes on my QP.. instead, SI sourced some replacement valves, welded them in... and all is well again.

Prior to fixing, my rattle was awful: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1wK0K0hgSwQ

Im ok with rattle its more had them welded to fix for now so cant select sports or not and doesnt sound as snap crackle pop with x pipe, other option was take them off and go full straight pipe :)

I understood the MK1 cars could have the oval back boxes if the 'Sports Pack' was optioned, which included the GTS look lights, lower sills, rear air-spoiler and front canards.

They also did a pack pre the Sports pack that included all the Sports stuff bar the enhanced gearbox software in Sport manual. It was called the Red Esse pack IIRC.

GTS MC had the ovals as standard and GTS auto had the quads but they are different to the 4.2 quads as they have the valved back boxes like the GTS MC. The software is different on the two tyres of 4.7 but the boxes themselves are the same, tips apart I think.
