Reversing into driveway and crunched Left front corner. Insurer may want to write off, I am not going for that (yet). They might submit to local workshop if I get a quote.

Headlamp survived but brackets are bent. (easy fix with new parts)
Bumper scuffed and bent, but crucially mounting flange torn off. ( new part 1k + paint . Used ones on Ebay look proper sh!tty). Can new bracket be grafted / plastic welded onto mine?
NSF wing bit distorted. Crucially nor creased or paint broken. Can this be persuaded back into shape? (new one £1000 too)

Thinking about DIY repair if insurer will not pay out

Rob - try and get a payment in lieu. You get a cheque, the insurance company pays out less than a write off (or full cost repair) and the car isn’t written off. Use the cash to repair the car to your standard using used parts etc.
My dad did this many years ago and had a holiday in Barbados with what was left after the car was fixed.

That's what I did with my 4200 that the Shippers damaged getting it into the container for New Zealand.
Bought myself a nice Omega Seamaster thank you very much.

Good advice. The underwriter mentioned two potential outcomes.
They agree a quote from garage that I arrange locally.
possible but unlikely they may agree cash settlement

Just back from small body shop which injected a does of reality. They might be able to repair the damage without replacing wing or bumper. Have ordered the headlight support brackets and wheel arch liner and will go from there. See what it looks like when stripped out.

Wishing you and your very important car well with this Rob. Sorry that I have no specialist knowledge to contribute/advice to give.
