Well after a long weekend, cleaning, polishing, waxing and detailing the XC90 it is finally ready for sale. Just put an ad up on Ebay here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-XC90-SE-LUX-4-4-V8-FULL-VOLVO-MAIN-DEALER-SERVICE-HISTORY-FROM-NEW-RARE/333219965164

With plenty of pics here:

I have had it for just over 3 years and it has been a loyal, trouble free and brilliant servant. The perfect do it all vehicle. Never complains, always starts and never had a problem outside of routine servicing and consumables.

I bought a new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Commercial recently to do all my work travel now so no longer have a use for it unfortunately.

I spent a long time waiting for a V8 to come up as they are quite rare. It had high miles but was in impeccable condition and had faultless history. Just goes to show when you build a good car in the first place and look after it then it will go on and on no problem with routine servicing. Wouldn't surprise me if these XC90 V8's could do 500k miles in their sleep with no major issue. Fantastic all round safe, comfortable and practical car at a bargain price to boot.

Drop me a line with any questions if you know anyone who could use something like this.

Nice looking thing, as you say should be good for many many miles yet. Mot until 19/10/2020?
Good luck with the sale, if I hadn't bought Ewans Range Rover I would be giving you a call.

You'll most probably have to more or less give it away or do a trade part ex according to Honest John in the Telegraph, as he says there not too popular!

Mind you, that what he said about my old Maser 3200GT!

Hi Rockits,
I was quite tempted by these as you can put a fancy exhaust on and they actually sound really nice! Went for the newer style (and smelly diesel) in the end, but good luck with the sale.

Big V8 petrol mud pluggers can be hard to sell but there are a few nutters out there who love them, it might take some time for said nutter to appear but if they want one they don't have a lot of choice.

Agreed. I was trying to find a petrol V8 XC90 or Discovery. Not many around. The Discovery was almost twice the price over the XC90 at the time. Glad I went XC90 as I am sure the Discovery would have cost much more to maintain over that time.

You don't see many XC90 V8's hit the market. They drive so much better than the D5 diesel that is much more popular. It is also Euro 4 Petrol ULEZ compliant as the D5 is not Euro 6.

Had a viewing this morning and a good offer. Will decide tomorrow. Tough one as it has generated a fair bit of interest I think with over 600 views and 21 watching and only been on eBay for 2 days with weekend to come. Got another guy wanting to view on Sat but said I would confirm Friday.

Sometimes the grass isn't always greener and a bird in the hand and all that. I know what I think it is worth and what I want for it. Funny thing is that is the same figure so I'm sure it will be fine.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the watchers, they are just that. I had over 60 on a couple of the Alfas, no bids, then after auction finished emails asking if I would accept xyz for it.

This is such BS , I guess many people will have sold their compliant petrol cars in favour of £199 pcm free road tax diesels to now find they have to pay a daily charge to drive them.
I was talking to a guy yesterday , they're changing their trucks for euro 6 , the euro 5 are worthless , nobody wants them.

That is why we trust our govt to always make decisions based on our best interests.....total sense! If your desire is to rip off the people and raise as much tax revenue as possible of course.

Listen to the govt and their advice and you will be well catered for, looked after and kept well in retirement

Well I can chalk off my first time waster. Hopefully there won't be too many more.

I accepted the guys offer. He then tells me after a while sorry but I've just gone and bought an R Class diesel. He hated it and preferred the XC90 but obviously the wife wears the trousers in that relationship

Thanks Dem.

How anyone can bring themselves to buy one of those hideous R Class abominations I will never know!

I think even the SsangYong Rodius looks better.
