Thanks for the summary Richard. It is amazing to think these cars are of that age now. It looks like all the GS for sale currently are at the right price points and indeed you get what you pay for. The blue one of the two dearest you mention will need some light re-commissioning (nothing really beyond MOT and Service and using it - brake clean up etc). To the OP, buy the best you can afford as it will be cheaper in the long run and you will get it back come resale.
The blue one has had all that done last week, and is now spot on again.

I just picked up a GS from Richard Grace today. Like all Maserati, good ones are wonderful things so never cut corners. Buy from Richard (he refuses to sell anything without a clean bill of health) or at the least pay for a thorough inspection from a Maserati specialist. Buy badly and it could cost a fortune. I used to use a 911 with small children but headroom disappears rapidly unless you don't feed them.....
Nice, the red one? That will look good next to the QP, unless that’s gone back in ox of course!.
Plus, how many Richard Grace Maseratis do you have to buy to get a free one !?

If such a scheme exists, please tell me as I probably qualify:D

This is a pal's 997 engine, a very nice carrera 4s gen 1 with proper, on-time MD history and 60k miles.

Just saying.

Sold all the ones we had, the last and best one was delivered yesterday. I do know of a good price point car that belongs to a chap I know. Some of the cars for sale are really good ones, previously sold by us, some I believe to be good ones that I know something about; there’s also some poor ones for sale. As mentioned by others buy with a PPI. If you can find a GS with a clean bill of health from a main dealer or recognised indie you’ll not go far wrong. That is a big ‘if’ though at 15-19 years of age. As with all things you get what you pay for, I know the two dearest ones on AT at £29750 and £29950 respectively are both outstanding cars; ex Maserati Concours winners.
That black one on Autotrader is probably 3 miles away from me! It does look nice, almost too good to really use much if anything.

Haven't spotted it in the wild though. Seems a lot of GS owners barely drive their cars judging by the first two I looked at :)

Yes, the red one. Out of the box with full MD history and drives how I imagine they drove when new and I suspect such opportunities will become increasingly rare. I would love to have kept the QPV but monies needed elsewhere so a luxury I cannot afford! I was not sure about Rosso Mondiale but, just as RG suggested, it looks so much better in the flesh than in the photos. I'm not sure why red (and white) cars rarely photograph well. Early impressions are; much smaller and lower than the GTS/QPV, more sports car than tourer but I think it can do both, very solid build quality, no squeaks or rattles, fast enough for public roads, great fast steering, sounds good compared to almost any other brand but poor compared to my last 4 Masers so I need to fix that - current thoughts are X-pipe and rear boxes from Jaren though the cats on the downpipes look like an afterthought. It will be a garage queen so can be loud but I don't want it to be outrageously noisy! I suspect RG would go out of business if he did a buy 5 get 1 free deal and that wouldn't be a good thing for this community! I know I am not the only serial buyer from him and will agree that it makes Maserati ownership relatively painless.

Not seen you for a few months Dave, must be nearly time ;) @Guy is catching you up. There are a few folk on here who are very good clients of mine, one who rarely posts, but has had plenty over the years, and I get plenty of lovely cars from him too.
