Hi - new to the forum and new to the M QP. Got the car, non runner, with many issues but got it running via some new coils and spark plugs, hand brake replacement and rear discs, new radio code and some other little things. Love the car! BUT - even with all goodwill :) the dash warnings lights remind me of Christmas in Florida....colourful !

As I have virtually no records of the car, Carfax doesn't really give too much info of what is factory installed, and I have no experience in this, perhaps one of you can decipher what was factory installed and what the previous owners!!! had installed and modified? One is the Skyhook suspension.... and it has coil overs with the wire leading out of the shocks and a "sport switch " inside, silver. It, at the start up, turns over approx 4 times before firing up, new battery and easy to turn, makes some clicking noises which really never ends - some say its the injectors?
The car runs well but really hard suspension - perhaps Skyhook isn't working or set on hard? Suspension light is "on".
Would there be any "coding" from the VIN numbers as with some other cars? Please let me know, appreciate all the help!

Congratulations on buying the QP, there will be more experience posters than me later. As a start getting a code reader attached would be good start. Also let’s us know which lights are lit and some photos please.

If you don’t have a code reader let us know geographically where you are and someone may be able to lend you one.

Welcome to the forum and good for you for taking on one that sounds like it has been less loved. I also have an 05 QPV. You may check your parts against places like eurospares that have detailed diagrams? Also some lights go on when battery is low. A new battery if over 4yr old and frequent use would help in that case.

You mention it makes some clicking noises after start up. If it is more of a metallic clattering it could be the variaitors. Does it ever go away?

No, it never goes away nor does it get "lighter". Don't think it is something to worry about as the car seems to have lots of power, especially once over the 3500rpm range.
I changed #7, 8 coils as it showed on the OB2 reader, borrowed from VAG dealer, that it had some problems.
Also changed all sparkplugs...a task but with extensions etc can be done without dismantling part of the car.
Engine on idle seems to be rough and not like a good V8...but ...Italian V8 issue?
Most concerning is the hard setting of the suspension as we don't have Autostrada pavement here...lots of potholes and heaves...
NOW- air con fan is not working at all....checked fuse #31...ok!Any relays to check before I get into the dash?
Will do some pictures...

Hi...I installed a new big appropriate battery...did the wait and so forth...no changes! Yes I am in contact with Europarts and ordered some for the E-brakes and new discs. Thanks!

Thank you for having me here on the Forum.....
So the detailed issue on this, to me new car, is:
Air Con fan - stopped working after it stopped and then restarted a couple of times.
Suspension - hard setting and no changes can be made other than changing the coil over setting?
Service overdue light... easy to fix...
engine idle - pretty "raw" sounding and a bit shaky - perhaps due to the X pipe the previous owner installed? Quite the nice exhaust tune!
On a cold day - suspension noise but goes away when driven a bit..
When in manual mode - 1. gear rattling, shatter on deceleration and low rolling speed
Missing and broken parts - engine covers - covers for ignition coil cables - wiper/ window cover broken - battery covers missing - no spare tire - luggage tire cover missing. If anyone has access to these parts - pls let me know - just a beautification process.
Car has 82,000 miles on it. To read the clutch life...need a special reader?
As said before...I have no records and it seems it was a used as a daily driver, super clean interior.
Any advise is appreciate - self help as the next Masa dealer is 1,200km away.

Re Fan not working - is there also a relay as well as the only fuse I could find(F31) inside driver (LH) side?

I think the fan will still be on the passenger side on a left hand drive model. The drawing on Eurospares seems to suggest that:

https://www.eurospares.co.uk/parts/maserati/qtp-2005-42/interiors/a-c-unit-dashboard-devices-46340

The fan is No. 6 in the drawing.

No idea if there's a relay. I simply pulled the connector, manually turned up the fan to maximum and checked for volts with a mutltimeter.
Thanks and will try to do the same. There seems to be 2 relays...T15 and T16 (or R15/R16) in the engine compartment fuse box. will report back ASAP once I have done it. Thanks again!
