Maserati 4200 Coupe Cambiocorsa
MY2003 car originally supplied new by Meridien Modena
38,320 miles from new
MoT until June 2020

An enthusiast owned and beautifully presented example of this iconic Italian sports car. With a Ferrari derived 4.2 litre V8 under the bonnet, a stunning bodyshell and genuine 2+2 seating configuration, this is a great year-round GT car. During my ownership, the car has always been garaged between uses and the battery maintained using a CTEK trickle charger.

Bodywork in Mediterranean Blue, with Grigio (grey) leather interior, contrast black leather dash top with blue stitching, interior carbon pack (including carbon steering wheel) and Maserati infotainment system (with SatNav disc present). The car was fitted with facelift 18” alloy wheels from new. The car drives and sounds superb, and all electrics are in proper working order. The car really needs nothing doing, just to be driven and enjoyed!

Owned since Summer 2018 and treated to some subtle upgrades and enhancements during my ownership, including:
  • Three-day enhancement detail by Summit Detailing in August 2019, including a GTechniq ceramic protection coating
  • All four wheels refurbished by The Wheel Specialist in August 2019, in gun metal grey, and with new centre caps fitted
  • Larini X-Pipe centre exhaust section with re-worked genuine rear silencers (original centre section and rear silences available with the car)
  • H&R lowering springs (original springs available with the car)
  • BMC air filter insert
  • Front and rear disc and pad replacement, with APEC discs and EBC Yellowstuff pads all round
  • Loudlink Bluetooth interface under centre armrest
  • Maserati Gransport gearshift paddles
  • Maserati 4200 facelift centre console cup holder insert
The car also benefits from a comprehensive main dealer and marque specialist service history, as follows:
  • 23/09/2003 – 1,686 miles, Meridien Modena
  • 22/04/05 - 5,763 miles, Meridien Modena
  • 13/03/07 – 15,057 miles, Meridien Modena
  • 18/07/08 – 23,216 miles, Meridien Modena
  • 06/08/09 – 23,365 miles, Meridien Modena
  • 03/03/14 – 30,744 miles, Dorset Sports Cars
  • 12/06/18 – 36,003 miles, AZ Autos Hertfordshire (prior to my purchase of the vehicle)
  • 17/08/18 - 36,558 miles, Bath Road Vehicle Services (qualified Maserati/Ferrari Master Technician), major service including spark plugs, engine oil/filter, gearbox and diff oil/filter, brake fluid, pollen filter, new battery and auxiliary belt
  • 24/05/19 – 37,526 miles, Bath Road Vehicle Services, annual service including engine oil/filter and front/rear discs and pads
The important Cambiocorsa clutch change was completed in April 2018 by Perfect Touch in North London, when the car was on 35,937 miles, at a cost of £2.5k (receipt provided). This included renewal of the clutch release bearing kit. The clutch reading in May 2019 (800 miles ago) was 1.27%, so plenty of life left.

The refurbished alloy wheels are fitted with correct fitment Falken ZE914 tyres on the front (around 6.5mm tread remaining) and Falken FK453 tyres on the rear (around 5mm tread remaining). I’ve found these tyres to be more than up to the job of maintaining good road-holding and ride quality.

Supplied with two keys, original book pack (in genuine Maserati leather folder), stamped up service book, supporting servicing and parts receipts, a printed owners’ manual in a separate A4 ring binder and an original sales brochure. Personal number plate will be removed prior to sale and is not included (original plate HX03 GME).

Please contact me for more details or to arrange a viewing – the car is located in North Bristol. Test drives only after providing proof of fully comprehensive insurance (one-day policies are available online), otherwise I’ll do the driving. No tyre kickers, agencies or part exchange please.

£16,950 ono.

Is this Dave’s old car?
Who is Dave?

I bought it through a dealership, which was selling on behalf of an owner in Hertfordshire. Quite bizarrely, a colleague of mine also knows one of the previous owners, when it was still in Hampshire/Dorset.

Thanks for the kind words too!

Thank you for the kind words. It is a lovely example, so if you know anyone who's in the market for one then point them this way.

Still for sale, but hopefully Spring will bring out some potential buyers when it (eventually) arrives.

Original number plate now back on the car: HX03 GME

Will go on eBay as a classified later this week too :)

It's certainly a stunning looking car but as some of the guys have already sign posted ( and I have just experienced with my sale of a 2009 QP 4.7S) , it's a really, really tough market out there. Hope it works out well for you.

Thanks guys. May speak to some specialist or modern classics traders about taking it on.

I would probably go Autotrader or Pistonheads. eBay is renowned for people who want a bargain and silly offers. But as above Dicky may be able to sell for you. Worth a chat.

Watch out for the 'cash' buyers. I did have one individual who was only interested in buying my QP in exchange for hard currency and nothing else. ie nil traceability. Needless to say the offer was declined.
