After much brain wracking and wallet contemplation, I have sadly decided to sell up my "fleet" and consolidate into a couple of very nice cars (hopefully a McLaren 570 plus GR Yaris) rather than several older classics... I'm retired now so need to start looking after the pennies and paying multiple times for garaging, tax, mot, insurance, servicing on several cars is starting to add up.

I thought I'd post on here first as I don't want to be hassled by the "whats your best price to send to Nigeria ?", "would you take my 200,000 mile diesel Skoda in P/ex ?" brigade if I can help it...

So here goes... any comments on the ad content/wording from you guys would be welcomed ;-)

August 2003 Maserati 4200 GT Coupe Manual.

Grigio Titanio with dark blue leather seats, carpets and trim.

Exceptional condition, close to immaculate inside and out. Has obviously been cherished and garaged all its life.

51,500 miles

Service history (was dry stored from 2005 to 2012 – MOT history confirms this)

02/04 6,785 (Dick Lovett)
12/04 22,120 (Dick Lovett)
07/12 35,270 (Alfanet)
04/16 40,500 (Emblem - 2nd and 3rd year service, inc gearbox strainer)
01/17 (Grimaldi - geo set up)
04/17 45341 (SMDG - inc new clutch and flywheel)
10/20 51230 (Motorvation - check over and oil change)

Never had even an advisory on any MOT, but probably due a full service now.

Fitted with xenons, Skyhook suspension, folding mirrors, memory and heated seats, rear parking pensors and cruise control.
7 spoke alloys are unmarked fitted with premium tyres with loads of tread.
Has Quicksilver back boxes fitted which allow for a deeper, but not loud, V8 burble but I still have the originals to revert if required.

All books and folder of invoices, plus two keys and red code card.

Everything works as per factory spec including ice cold aircon.

Underneath is exceptionally clean.

Sorry to see you selling but some nice targeted replacement to look forward to.

Im sure there was somebody looking for a manual 4200 that posted on the forum a few months ago.

I will see if i can find the thread. Maybe worth a message to them to see if they are still looking as good ones dont come up very often.

Looks like just the thing I'm after. Unfortunately I need to sell another car first, this may happen in the next few weeks. If I can sell my car and yours is still available, I'll be in touch.

Lovely looking car. Could be very interested. Do you have any more photos you can share? And which part of the country are you based?

No problem- I’m dreadfully slow at selling ( which is why I’ve ended up with so many ) so just ping me when you are ready

Lovely looking example, with low mileage, high spec and a good colour-way. A rare find, and the last of the stick-shift manual Maseratis. Should sell well.

Any luck with the advert yet, always good to hear what the buying market is like. Good advert and price so I would expect it to sell well.

The 4200 is the only car of “the fleet” left ... I’ve sold a 996 C4S, Clio V6, 190E cosworth and R35 GTR in the last couple of weeks but not so much as a phone call or email about the 4200 from AT. 2 or 3 enquiries from here but only Giorgio came to see and he bought the green 04 one at auction instead. On the plus side I’ve been driving more now and loving it so not in massive rush until I’ve actually bought the replacement...
it amazes me what great value these when you look at the prices being achieved for lesser “classic” cars ... even the one at Historics last week didn’t sell. Maybe I need to find some “cheap” storage and put it away for 3 years until I’ve scratched the McL / F430 itch...
