I had oil changed at authorized USA Maserati dealer and when I checked the oil level afterwards the stick showed overfull. The service bill had a charge for 10 quarts of oil. When I called the service tech he said that he actually used 9 quarts. The manual states that the car requires 2.06 gallons which is 8.24 quarts. Will the 9 quarts that the tech used cause damage??

I would suggest that you should take it back and have them do it properly. There is a maximum mark for a reason!

Absolutely....the dealership is 3+ hours away...did call dealer and they said to set up an appoint for when their Maserati tech is in the shop. I was concerned about damage during the drive there.
Is there an easy way to remove overfill?

Id try inserting a pipe into the oil tank, attaching a large syringe, and pumping the superfluous oil out. Perhaps someone can comment whether the internal structure prevents access to the oil level from above - it might ?

The oil tank sump plug is quite easy to get at. Can't you put a tray underneath, undo the sump plug and let a bit drain off and whip the plug back in quick, check it again and top up. Do it when the engines cold, put a big bit of cardboard down and don't have your best Ralph Lauren shirt on.

The undertray gets right in the way... Access is via a small hole with removable plug directly under the drain plug....
Removing the undertray helps- any garage could do it imo.
I’d find a new garage too...3+ hrs is a schlep for a badly performed service.

I've seen this done before and would imagine it's easier than attempting to do from below.
