Can you imagine.......if he doesn't know what hes selling...plus the thing doesn't go.......evidence of huge neglect.......you could be spending.....10K on it!

Come on guys, so he got the advert wrong, but the description is honest and the price is (at the moment) very reasonable. Eyes wide open together with the facilities to restore it and that could be a cheap way into open top Trident ownership.

Is it a good price at the moment......Not sure....A wobbly 2002 Spider get be had for 13/14k that leaves 7k to play with....Would need a bloody good assessment of the car buy a great specialist to buy the car as with Maserati parts prices etc that 7k could go very, very quickly.....

At the moment it's a good price, if you can get it for about that. But standing for 4 years I'd want the engine to have the once over striped and deep cleaned. Anyone know if the clylinder liners on that engine are steel?, if they are Youd need them pulled and looked at and prob replaced. Maybe the head gaskets too I assume they are a mix compound like the old busso head gasket gaskets so the standing water would of done some damage to them. The electrical problems sounds like water penetration also so the whole wiring system would need looking into and hope its not in one of the ecus and just a fuse box.

If you can get it for 7.5k and it cost you around 3k to get right then it could be a bargain.....Its just knowing whats not right with the bits you can not see.....

Agree Andy. Spyders are few and far between, and that one's a nice colour combination. The seller states the engine is a runner and all the electrical issues could be simply down to lack of use. Get the key re-programmed, get it on an SD2 and invest in a thorough report and you never know. I'd much rather hope to see it restored and running than d@mn it to the breakers yard.
