18 years of Maserati ownership sadly comes to an end....

I have learnt a new word this morning, coprographia. Apologies for the cut and paste, but I can’t be bovvered to make it look like I wrote it - tw@t!

“Can the spontaneous profanity in Tourette's Syndrome manifest in written communication?

I think so, yes.

But to be more specific, verbal spontaneous profanity is known as coprolalia. Copropraxia is related to obscene gestures and Coprographia is making obscene writings or drawings. So profanity in written communication would be coprographia. It is not necessary that someone with coprolalia would also suffer from coprographia but it’s possible.”

Whilst Tourette's is not funny and can be severely debilitating...

Mute Tourette’s Syndrome has long been in the shadow of its more famous sister-disease, 'Tourette’s Syndrome', and although much rarer, is even more tragic in its consequences. While a child suffering from Tourette’s has difficulty in containing its anger and frustration, a child with Mute Tourette’s suffers the opposite fate, and is unable to express their true feelings. There is, however, an answer. A great deal has been achieved by the Mute Tourette’s Foundation using new art therapy techniques. However, their work can only continue with your help. Just £1.37p will keep a child supplied with crayons for a whole day. £5 will provide them with enough paper for a week.

Fair point. Having had a spin in Ben's F-type, it's an extremely worthy successor to any Mas. Well done, fine choice. But don't leave the forum. Many of us no longer have a Mas.

We tested an F type a few years ago - very very nice, very very predictable - does everything it says on the tin perfectly - just lacked (the) character, (especially of a (our) Maserati). Maybe when I have some grey hairs!!

I agree, plus I wouldn't have any JLR product but that's me... I am lusting after a Lexus LC500 so what do I know.

Seems as though with a lack of proper successor to the GT (granted there is one coming eventually) and an increasing list of NLA parts for the 3200/4200 cars and now the GT/QPV becoming victim to it as well I think Maserati will be hemorrhaging a big chunk of its customers

@ratbag enjoy your Jaaaag and if you stick around the Forum will eventually be called sportscars-erati.com as more disillusioned enthusiasts walk away from the brand.

I love the LC500, looks good sounds great, but oh so woefully underpowered. 464PS for a 100 grand car (new).

Surely every 100 grand motor has to have at least 600bhp these days?

In the late 70’s 100kw already got me excited! Shows how things have progressed massively - its a bit like the nuclear arms race but on an individual basis - we’ve got enough bhp to kill ourselves multiple times :)

This is true but picking up a depreciated sports car with 600+ BHP as a 10 year ownership prospect seems terrifying maintenance wise. Multiple turbos, complex ECUs, even more potential for it to cook half of its engine components within that time leaving you to pick up painful maintenance bills.

The 5.0 V8 NA in the Lexus seems a safer bet but the fuel economy is almost as bad as the 4200 which is hilarious.

Very true, but 0-60 4.6sec, 391lbs/ft torque and 168mph top speed is slower than a GTS. And it's 100 grand brand new!

I stopped watching Hoovies Garage a long time ago. But this caught my eye. If you skip ahead from the start,
you'll discover what a really eye watering service cost sounds like. Back story is. Hoovies mate / cousin / brother / husband or all of the above; bought Paris Hilton's ten year old SLR. He's just got an estimate from the garage, where it's sitting. Specifically, an estimate of service items, plus items requiring attention due to ...........whatever Paris did to the car.

I love the LC500 too. Great cars, sure, not as fast as many similar priced cars, or lots of much cheaper ones too, but as a road car, hardly slow. Let’s face it, with all these insanely fast electric cars buying an ICE car based on numbers is a losing game. A mid range Tesla model 3, which is basically a common everyday white goods car now, will leave my QP for dust off the mark.

The quality of the LC at sub 100k is unbeatable though. Combine that with a bulletproof NA V8 that will run for ever with no huge bills and it’s a major plus. The styling and brand you either love or hate I guess.

For me it was a close toss up between an LC500 and a Jag FType (once I had ruled out a late GT) In the end I decided the Lexus was too big , and the Jag would suit me better. I have no doubt it is an amazing car too......

Charlie test drove a soft top Jag the other week with me in the passenger seat...I was very smitten and if it had a trident on it I would buy one today.

She thought it was just a little too big and prefers the MB SLC
I can put a trident on one for you if you like. Now where's my box of crayons

Sir. Does ‘mute Tourette’s‘ account for any ‘evaporating’ posts on this thread? I merely tried to apologise for offending any poor, sensitive souls that may be lurking on the forum and it appears that my apology has been censored. Does that mean I no longer have to apologise for any perceived bad behaviour? I believe the phrase one uses to initiate a response is “come on mods, sort it out”. Mr Grumpy, Tunbridge Wells.
