So are qpv's of that vintage 2 year servicing like granturismo?

IIRC the auto QPVs were two year intervals from the 4.2 UK launch (cJan 07). I don’t think they made many DS 4.2s after that and not sure if they went to two year intervals for them. Remember it’s date of manufacture rather than registration which determines intervals.

Just out of interest, and probably a stupid question, but do the DS qps have a rear transaxel or a foward mounted robotized manual box? Looks lovely! I'd have it in a second if it were a bit closer...

Yup transaxle on DS. It was 53/47 weight distribution on DS Rear/Front. Whereas newer ZF auto had box mounted upfront mated to back of engine so changed to 49/51.

So thinking out of the box; you could buy this... and a GS along with a GTs for the same price of a Strad.

A small collection and a car for every purpose.

That is my thinking and my problem and why I have too many cars!

The 4200, XJL SuperSport, TVR, Alfa GT, GTi-6 and XC90 is about the same price as a earlyish Strad.

And how much fuel in it for those calculations? Reason is it makes jack **** really just as suspension not being changed for going from LHD to RHDin terms of left/right weight balance.

Similar thinking here, the only downside is keeping them all taxed and insured, serviced and MOT!

The Duo select is also a 2 year, 12000 mile service schedule...

I don't think there is a car about for the money that turns as many heads, creates the same amount of buzz when you mention it and is as beautiful as the QPV... it is a true bargain... other than its thirst the machine is a surprisingly good daily!

Azapa, mine will be sadly going up for sale soon... same spec, but black and red piped interior... ;)

When is your's registered? I thought the first 2+ years of DS QPVs were on annual servicing like the 4200 they were produced alongside at the time.

Mines a MY07 but registered Dec06 - the service record has been main dealer every 2 years.

I thought it was yearly and that I was overdue a service, but when I went into Lnacasters, the service department made me believe that I was early on time, but bang on for miles...

Just to rule out idle speculation... I RTFM!

My manual is shared with the GT, so maybe the early duo select is on a yearly schedule - in which case I don't feel quite as gutted paying twice the yearly road tax!!

Early QP DS were every year. But when they launched the GranTurismo (with the same engine) they changed it to every two years.

And yes, you could buy an early QP, a GS, and a GT for the price of a nice Strad. But over a 4 year period (for example), the Strad would cost about £4K in servicing and tax, while the 3 car collection would cost maybe £12k. I suspect the 3 car collection would also loose more in depreciation - but that is just conjuncture. Insurance would be more for the 3 as well. That said, it would be a lovely collection, covering many bases.

Stunning car, what a beautiful colour combo, oozes class and such a pretty car. I'd love to be in a situation where running one of those daily made sense, but alas, with a 6 mile commute, it'd never get warm!

Apparently deposit now taken. Pity because I was waiting for more photos from the owner but clearly someone decided to go for it. Oh well.

Never wait.....QP are horrid to sell on but at that price it wasn't going to be around for long. You may even see it come up for sale at a dealer for say 15/16k.......We will see.

I will be in the market for a qp as a daily driver in the next few months, I seriously considered offering a non refundable deposit on it but, ideally want a darker interior and haven't made mind up on auto Vs duo

My QP will be up for sale in June... same as the one above, but with the black alcantera and black leather with red piping...
Duo select with 66% wear - was 60% last may.

Hi, i did see that , I need to try an auto and duo. Am I right in thinking that dry sump don't get the variators issue?
Also for subframe rust can if be hidden by someone spraying waxoyl?
If I decide on a duo I'll be in touch.
I live in Manchester
