Hi All,

after being a bit lazy lately and just reading along here, I wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Ronny, I live in the south of Germany and I own a green (verde foresta) Ghibli GT 2.0.
It’s a late ‘97 Model, first registered in Italy in ‘98, I bought it in 2011 from Campana in Milano.

The car is stock, apart from 15mm wheelspacers all around and Sparco seats, mounted a bit lower and further back to better suit my size of 1,83m / 6’0”. Together with a 50mm steering wheel spacer, this makes driving much more convenient.

Absolutely love the colour... wouldn't have thought green could be so perfect for a Ghibli.

What a fine looking car! I had a 993 for many years in a similar hue - tannengrun I think and loved it. It does look great on the Ghibli. Those headlights look like they may be a challenge at autobahn speeds though!! ?

Wow, that looks lovely Ewan

The wheels look a bit to Max Power'ish though for a 1990's car! The standard wheels would look a lot better

Thanks for that, I thought that too!

Less I'm wrong, they also came with split rim Speedline's, that looked a bit more 1990's!

Dave
From what I remember there were two split rim alloys; one for the Cup (Speedline), and the other for the Kit Sportivo version (OZ Futura III). The GT had these alloys pictured.

Earlier cars had two sorts of non-split rim alloys; one a bit like the Mexican hat-style alloys you got on Mercedes W123s...

I’m sure there’s others...

No. An auto, and it’s highly unlikely ever to be sold.

There were five wheel types to the Ghibli. The earliest cars had a simple design, then the ABS cars had a more complicated style similar to those from the Merak. The late GT cars had the larger wheels as shown on my green car. The kit sportive pack gave an early version of the split rim wheel, while the Cup had the Speedline split rims.

Welcome and lovely car, Green really suits the Ghibli.

Only this morning a photo shoot I did with the SZ some years ago popped up as an FB memory. There next to the SZ was the Ghibli Primatist.

Bonus point for anyone who can name the football stadium in the second photo
