As the others stated it should just be the cable or the dongle that needs to be switched. If you switch the dongle you may have to download the software for the new dongle to get it to work.

Did anyone end up with engine whine through their system when listening to this?

This didn't work for me. I did a google search for autokit.apk and downloaded the result instead and it worked!
