Rear brake caliper pin completely stuck

All sorted. I clamped mole grips tight on the middle of the pin and started rotating to loosen up. Then hammered the mole grips to push the pin out and it worked a treat! :) I would recommend this method if anyone else has the same issue in the future!

Rear brake caliper pin completely stuck

Hi all, I'm trying to replace my rear pads and having some real trouble getting the pins out. Fronts ones where no problem at all. With great difficulty I have managed to get the top pin out but the bottom just won't move at all. I'm using a 4mm and various other pin punches and a hammer, just...

    ZF Paddle Shifter

Thanks for your reply. I'll give it a go this weekend! Is taking the steering wheel off easy enough? Will the airbag removal cause any issues when reconnecting? If you do have a switch set knocking about that would be fantastic!

    ZF Paddle Shifter

Hi I'm currently having an intermittent issue with the UP paddle shifter. Just recently its started ignoring my input and not shifting up. Down paddle has no issues at all and also manual stick changers with no issues. It appears to be some problem with the UP paddle only. When it doesn't...

    Lower shocker bushes - TIPS

Hi, I've taken my shockers to the garage this morning for the Lower shocker bushes replaced. What is the best way they can remove and resit the new ones without damaging the shaft? They're saying the bush is too close to the edge to press out? It's a 2009 with the adjustable shockers btw

Front shocker and upper arm bushes help

Ah, this does pose a problem for me then - I was hoping the bolt directly under the ball join would release it. Originally I only intended to replace the shocker bushes as its the reason for the MOT failure. Then due to the nightmare upper arm bolt I realised I've likely damaged the bush and...

Front shocker and upper arm bushes help

I've been turning the bolt a lot so the bush is already torn. They are getting replaced at the same time so wasn't too fused. My intention is to remove the shockers and upper arms then take to my usual specialist for replacement.

Front shocker and upper arm bushes help

@Zep Thank you for your reply. Tried winding out, the inner part of the bush circled in blue turns with the bolt. What do you mean but stuck in a burr?

Front shocker and upper arm bushes help

Hi, hope you're all well. Today I set to replacing the front shocker bushes. I started with the near side, and removed the upper control arm bolts for ease of getting to shocker out. All good and the shocker is off ready for the bushes to be replaced. Now for the drivers side... all good apart...

    Granturismo Oil Valve Solenoid Warranty

Thanks for all the help. Is this something I could check myself? I generally maintain my other cars myself. If not should I have the car towed to the garage or would it be ok to drive? (around 20 miles)

    Granturismo Oil Valve Solenoid Warranty

That's good news then. Yes the garage supplied all the parts. I'm not sure exactly but from what I can find online I believe they were 296016 (right) and 296016 (left) plus an oil change and new plugs because it apparently run very rough after initially replacing them. The noise had completely...

    Granturismo Oil Valve Solenoid Warranty

Hi everyone, Less than 7 months ago my car starts making a tapping noise on the revs down to idle. I had checked out and it was the result of bad oil valve solenoids. Both solenoids were replaced along with new plugs and an oil change - the problem was solved. Just recently though the issue is...

Rough idle when coming to a stop

I've not had the misfire code since last year and it was just the once, they swapped over the coils to test but it never came back on again. The engine does sound similar at the moment when coming to a stop but no lights/codes. It vibrates and splutters like its almost going to stall. They picks...

Rough idle when coming to a stop

Firstlt, thanks for you help :) Previously when I had the same issue I once got a flashing engine light - OBD said a misfire on cylinder 7. Would that make sense with a solinode problem too? Is there a way I can test them? Also can they be replaced individually?

Rough idle when coming to a stop

The issue was a problem last year too actually but was advised it was 'CAT failure', I had that sorted and it seemed to be ok for a while. Car runs well generally and only problematic when slowing down to a stop. Is there a procedure I could do to check those things?
