    SM PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD

These are from the South Coast of Victoria in Australia. The first time I used a proper camera, I spent ages trying to work out how to use it. I know just a little now lol... I just kept clicking till it looked alright! This is the Bay of Martyrs

    Spares?

The biggest issue is storage. Some wreckers have high turnover parts, but I think some of these would be idle for ages. You could potentially have a situation where you're holding assets for a long time before you can convert them to spares or cash.

    Gransport MPG - Owners experience.

Straight from the manual. I found its probably the most honest consumption guide I've come across.

Why I'm Making My Own Brakes

Some more good news! Hawk are sending me some pads to confirm fitment, so we can have a readily available set of pads with a range of performances and costs. After discussing specifics with them, they're going to send me out a road pad that they think will suit, as well as a set of racing pads...

Where is the code for the colour of the leather

Repairing leather is a skill, you'll need to find someone who is good at what they're doing. The video below will give you an idea of why having a colour code is less helpful than having someone good at their job.

    Making My Own Control Arms

Yes, that's why I started doing this. You laugh, but wood has great compressive strength... Wood is still used in building some spacecraft components... We used a blow torch to burn them out... I will get back onto this before the end of the year, but I promised my fiancee that I would...

    Radiator removal

Well there we go! I don't recall that mounting tab being on the chassis, so I reckon it is a specific difference between the regional models. Thanks!

    Radiator removal

On the very first parts diagram, part #11 - where is that? When I converted my car I bought all the brackets and fittings, but that was the one mounting point I couldn't work out. I currently have the car apart for the body work, so if you could show a photo of how its fitted up I'd very much...

    Testing Fan Resistor

That actually sounds like the best solution. I can't hear the fans running at all from inside the car, so I can't see what practical difference it would make other than when its idling and you're outside the car. I wish I had thought of that before getting the resistor! I'll get some high...

    Testing Fan Resistor

I messaged a few other owners in Australia, and none of them have a working resistor regardless of mileage. One the cars I've driven, none of them had the fans engage at the lower speed that I can recall. Does anyone know if there is a more resilient part available? Sounds like it is another...

    Making My Own Control Arms

Yeah I wouldn't buy second hand unless you're certain the wrecker will return your money if the parts aren't suitable. AFIK the pattern parts are the OEM parts so are the same quality. The only thing I can do in the short term that might help, is I can try the ball joint injection on your...

    Headlight Refurb

I had no idea they were NLA! I did look at them, but mine were salvagable. I used 5000 grit sand paper to take off the oxidation. If the rubber is hard then apparently Wintergreen oil 3:1 with Isopropyl Alcohol + hot (not boiling water) is a good way to soften rubber, there are a few videos on...
