Need to inspect my TB and I have a question. How do you get the inlet pipe clips back on? I understand a special tool is required? Or should I just replace with a big jubilie clip?

Hi All Some t*at appears to have reversed into my car and put a sizable crack in the RH rear light lens. Not a major issue as only visible from up close but 1) its really bugging me and 2) it will probably leak now in heavy rain. I see a replacement is not too eye-wateringly expensive wondering...

They did....despite their guy swearing blind he'd "fixed" the issue by towing me away from the crossing....I had to cough up £100 to be recovered.

Well....the mystery is now solved...... I had to drive to Gatwick this morning and was feeling slightly nervous about it. The car has been fine for a few days but I hadn't really got to the bottom of what the problem had been. i was most of the way there and starting to feel more comfortable...

Just been out the petrol station and put in a load of fuel....Started and drove fine both going and coming back (only a mile or two but enough to get the engine warm). I guess time will tell if this really was a bizzare one-off or if something really is wrong but very intermittent. Need few...

Agreed I think its got to be worth doing....I just had a look at the access and its very tight (and Im not a big person), which is annoying, as replacing the sensor itself looks very easy.... Any tips on how to make access easier?

OK..just warmed up the car for 20 mins...(started first time) had a very short drive around the car park...sat at idle for a bit longer...then gave it plently of revs..All appears to be well..No errors, no misfiring, revs through the full range. So I don't think the crank shaft sensor is failing...

Whilst I follow your logic...I would rather not risk getting stuck at a busy level crossing in a town centre...with the car now and it's running sweet as...Going to let it warm up then go for a tentative drive
