    Auto or MC shift?

I've seen a 2008 GranTurismo 4.7 S auto that I could be interested in after previously owning a 4200. I've read the MC shift cars (with a clutch) don't have a gear lever where as all the Automatic cars do. Is this true? The car is advertised as an auto but only has two buttons on the center...

    Formula Dynamics F1 Enhancement Module.

Does anyone have any experience or opinions about the Formula Dynamics F1 enhancement module? My car is a 2003 4200 CC which I'm told has a slower gear change even in sport mode. I already have the Formula Dynamics box but just haven't got round to sending back to the factory to be set up for my...

    Alternative Radiator?

I bought a radiator from Autodoc. There are two numbers on the invoice, one is the "article number" which is MR2002 and the "commodity code" which is 87089135. When I bought it a year ago it cost £170-57 GDP. If you google 87089135 you'll probably find there's more than one place listing it.

    4200 Auxillary Drive Belt.

As you say it's not particularly difficult, I was just curious as to how many had done it themselves. As I'm replacing the engine radiator I thought it would be a good idea to do it at the same time. I am also changing the belt tensioner as again it's easier at this stage. The other thing I'm in...

    4200 Auxillary Drive Belt.

Has anyone changed the auxillary drive belt on their car? As I've got the front bumper off the car in order to change the radiator I thought now might be a good time to change the belt on mine.

    Crack in hub carrier

Could you put a post a picture of the ball joint splitter you are using? When I did mine I had to grind out the U shaped slot in the jaws until it would fit. I'm fairly sure that splitters with wider jaws are available. Try searching for commercial or light commercial vehicle splitters. There's...

    Crack in hub carrier

As a retired aircraft engineer I absolutely agree with your comments. Something that I and my colleagues were always on the lookout for. Cracks of any kind can be fatal. I would advocate the use of a file though rather than a grinder, finished off with emery paper.

    front shock absorber Maserati 3200

You're welcome but I forgot to say that there are 'C' shaped shims at either side of the front and rear wishbone bushes. You must get these back in the same order in which they came out or you'll lose the correct alignment on that particular wishbone.

    front shock absorber Maserati 3200

I've removed the front shock absorbers on my 4200 and I think that the 3200 is the same. The 4 nuts at the top are relatively easy to get at. The lower part is slightly more difficult. You have to get the bottom wishbone out of the way, so anti roll bar off which is easy and bottom wishbone off...

4200 Front Bumper. Advice and opinions needed.

Yes I agree and a set of drawings or a dimension'd sketch would be a good idea to make life easier for anyone else attempting to do this. I'll ask my son if he'll produce a CAD drawing of the brackets and that could possibly find a home somewhere on this forum?

4200 Front Bumper. Advice and opinions needed.

Thanks Navcorr that's very useful. I think I've enough info now to make some new brackets. I would never have guessed that the main support brackets are held on with double sided tape. I hope they used industrial strength stuff.

4200 Front Bumper. Advice and opinions needed.

Thanks for that. Pictures would be really helpful. could you tell me how the support bar is attached to the bumper? There's a dense foam strip behind the remains of the support bar and the rusty strip seems to have attached itself to that. If I could remove it without damaging the plastic bumper...

4200 Front Bumper. Advice and opinions needed.

I've removed the front bumper on my 4200 in order to change the engine radiator. However having done that it's become obvious that the main bumper attachment brackets have disolved, just leaving some rusty bits behind. I've attached some pictures showing a strip of rusty metal attached the the...

    4200 oil change.

Thanks for your replies. As it's oil change time again I just got to wondering why some people choose not to use the drain plug. Curiosity that's all. So as it's such a damp horrible day here in Yorkshire I think I'll get me spanners and change the oil. Has to be better than watching the telly.

    4200 oil change.

Could someone please tell my why the favoured method of draining the oil tank seems to be by disconnecting the oil pipe. There appears to be a drain plug in the bottom of the tank so why not use that?

    Norton Motorcycles

"Norton has never worked as a brand" How can you think that let alone say it. I assume you're referring to the post Bracebridge Street products. It's a wonder I didn't choke on my lunch when I read that. Norton was always a front runner and certainly from the 1930's almost dominated motorcycle...
