Why does my engine tick after a good thrashing?

At high revs the camshafts can cause air bubbles into the hydraulic tappet lifters. This can cause the noise at idle and low oil pressure when water temp goes up to 90 ºC. Especally older engines with worn piston rings will have more blow-by gases condensing into the oil and makes it thin...

    Clutch compability Spyder

Anyone know if Clutch set #196335 (valid from car assembly No. 9254), can replace #196021 and fit cars up to assembly No. 9253 ? I want to reface my clutch discs with the PEGA kevlar ones and the say the will only reface #196335 and my Spyder -02 have the older ones (#196021)

    Custom made spacers

Cheapest spacers 5x108 with 67,1 mm hub, you buy to a Volvo XC90. I have bought several of them 15 mm 25 mm and 30mm in Alu.

Where to buy a MAF sensor

Almost all, probably all, Bosch Mafs (insert part) of this mechanical design have the same calibration curve. Then the output signal vs air mass is up to the cross sectional area of the venturi housing. I'm 100% sure of F00C2G2044 (Maserati) ,F00C2G2030 or F00C2G2033 are all the same. By the way...

Where to buy a MAF sensor

Look at "sticky" http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/showthread.php/51-Alternative-parts-what-everyone-needs-to-know/page30 But avoid the cheap OEM from manufacturer ARCHER that I tried. It had a bad calibration curve and I lost some power in the middle revs. So instead I bought an original Volvo...

    Toe settings

My self I'm doing some dragracing and want to keep the relative soft springs for tracktion in the takeoff. But I'm also doing some trackdays and want to improve curve stability. So I'm going to lower ride height, set some more camber, toe more close to zero, and maybe FD's stiffer antiswaybar kit.

    Toe settings

"Toe in" is just for high speed stability if you're often above +200 km/h. "Toe in", also reduce HP, increase tyre wear and gas consumption. For maximum acceleration better with toe=0, also for curve stability. Toe out can give further curve stability but worsen stright ahead stability. Toe=0 is...

GS Spare Wheel Vs 996 C4S

I use the Volvo XC90 - 18" spare rims as front runners in drag racing. I have to use 15 mm spacers for calipers clearance.

    spark plugs

Currently I use the NGK IRIDIUM IX CR8EIX. They are a bit more expensive than platinum ones, but Iridium has the highest melting point of all known metals, so I expect them to last longer and give pay off. They have a wide temperature range, so you never get any cylinder knocking caused by...
