    Wax on wax off.

Today I washed the car, dried it off and polished with Autoglym Super Resin Polish. The dumb question now is, do I need to wax it for protection?

    Matrix Matters.

A whiff of coolant in the cabin, a misty patch on inside of windscreen and a sticky/wet carpet, I guess I need to join the Matrix club. After reading the excellent 'how-to', I'm wondering if it can be done with both seats, still in the car, but pushed right back and does the steering definitely...

    Indicator/Flasher Unit

Is it me, or is the turn signal buzzer/unit on the 4200 really quiet? I've been caught out a couple of times, indicating when overtaking, only to drive down the road for a couple of miles still indicating . I'd like to swap it for a 'louder' ticker, so, could someone direct me where to...

    Control Arm MOT Fail.

Yesterdays MOT flagged 'Fail' for suspension arm ball joint, rear, upper offside. I'm thinking it's 196779 Pt No. Questions; Do I need to remove the rear subframe completely to remove the pivot bolt when I replace the arm. Is it possible to drop one side? Brand new replacement ,or useable spare...

    Missing Fuseboard.

I was looking to find the fuse for the fuel pumps, which is supposed to be located in the boot, just above the battery BUT it's not there. It's the one labelled 'M' in the handbook. I seem to remember a thread where someone was suggesting moving this particular fuse/relay mount out of the way to...

    Oil Pipe, Split Nut.

Changing the oil, I noticed the dreaded tell-tale crack in the large brass nut connecting to the oil tank. Obviously it's got to be an immediate fix. The question is do I buy the Hills Eng. split nut, or go for a second hand replacement oil pipe, or buy a new oil pipe? The split nut option seems...

    4200 Airbox Removal.

After a bit of a struggle, I managed to remove the old Air Filter from a rather knackrd Airbox. Please tell me I can remove the Airbox to repair/replace it without removing the front bumper. See pics of old filter. Might put it back without changing it.......only joking.

Why Are My Nuts Sooo Tight.

Jacked the rear of the car up (54 Plate 4200CC) and proceeded to remove both road wheels, well I tried to. I couldn't believe how tight the wheel bolts were. Had to drop the car back onto the ground and use a combination of impact gun and long breaker bar. Finally, around an hour, beat them...

    Wife's Cooling Foot Spa.

Whilst out for a jolly jaunt today, with temperatures hitting 32deg, my wife was mightily impressed with the Maserati Option of a Cooling Foot Spa. Accompanied by the dancing front windows... I guess the aircon was struggling to maintain temperatures in such conditions and the condenser was...

    4200 Tramlining.

I've been using my 4200 for work lately and whilst travelling on the M6, I've been a Model Citizen, using the inside lane more than usual due to the reduced amount of traffic. This has shown up more pronounced tramlining probably because of the heavily rutted surface from HGV traffic. I've...

    New Owners, Old Motors.

Quite often newbies, myself included, post as new owners on the forum but with well known 'new' cars. Can we newbies list our registrations to see if regular posters have previous knowledge and history of the cars? Or is this a security risk with cloning? Would love to have a bit more history...

    Sticky Fingers

Sorry, not the Stones version but the pain in the butt version of switches in my car. I'm currently trying to re-finish some of these switches and I'm at the point where I'm ready to try my idea on a 'real' switch. The big question is, does anyone have a redundant switch that I could buy to test...

    A Letter to Matron.

Dear Matron, I'd been banging on the gates of the Maserati Sanitorium for, what seems like ages, yet you wouldn't let me in. But now that I've finally found the 4200 that's been missing from my life, I'm sure you'll welcome me with open arms. Will I get the same tranquillisers and blood...

    My next dumb question.

Can't seem to find a definitive answer, so, can anyone say whether Cruise Control was a standard item or an option for the 4200? Thanks in advance.

    Aerial Positions

Whilst looking at 4200 cars I've noticed aerial positions for mounting on different cars. Some have rear left wing mounting, others have stubby roof aerial and some have nothing at all. Is this anything to do with differing Sat Nav packages?

    Key Question...

Hi all, possible new owner with Key Question. Is there a Master key that comes with the original keys to enable re-programming? If an additional key is required does that have to come from Maserati? Thanks.

    3200 GT Collectable?

Why sell this on an auction basis, without any reserve or 'buy it now' price if it's such a desirable article? It could realistically go for well below it's assumed market value. Or am I not seeing something more obvious...
