Speed Camera Check Service ( free )

Slightly off topic - but the post reminded me of the redesigned "zero tolerance" GATSO (apologies if it has been already seen!)

Just a reminder for all those going to France.

On the point of headlight adapters for France - has anyone ever fitted them to a GTS ? I have had conflicting comments in the past that they aren't needed as "the car has a flat beam and the steering adjusts it" - I am not 100% convinced and dont want to find out the hard way! But - I cant...

    GTS issue

Had that the other day just after letting two pedestrians cross in front of me - oh did i get some looks - they had only got half way :)

    GTS insurance

I have used First Point (www.tailoredinsurance.com) for a while now and my '11 plate GTS they insured for less than half of the Admiral figure, albeit I am an "older driver" (a fact I try hard to forget!). First Point were introduced to me by H R Owen when I got my first Maserati and have been...

GT recall for fault in rear lights

Not sure of build date, but chassis number is 57265, and original factory delivery to dealer was 28/1/11

GT recall for fault in rear lights

Interesting - My March 2011 GTS m/c had a n/s tail unit that randomly decided to not play - rectified by a gentle tap on the housing (not easy at 70 on the M25). Popped in to the dealer and unit was swapped out under warranty with "maserati know about this" comments. No official recall here...

Newbie looking for Grand Tourismo advice before purchase

I went from an E61 M5 (touring) to my first GT, then moved pretty rapidly to the GTs MC shift. I really enjoyed the M5, but it didnt set the heart alight - just the adrenalin when i got the chance to play properly I have to say that I have encountered few real problems though the difference...

    Wax on Wax Off ?

Tried several combinations on several cars over the years, but have come down to Autoglym HD wax as a really good balance of quality versus price (and I like the smell!!)

    Granturismo insurance expensive

Personally I have found that all insurance quotes have gone up - a lot. My GTS I have with a broker - First Point - and have found them very effective in terms of getting the best deal (http://www.firstpointinsurance.co.uk/) I have no connection to them whatsoever!

    Kent Meet Early November?

Great idea - If we can get the dates right I am up for it. Weekdays have their moments of being full but most weekends are clear and can juggle a few weekday dates about. As to location, I am Tunbridge Wells based but happy to fall into line with what makes it easiest for venue choice and turnout.

The delivery went without a hitch and nothing but praise for the dealer (no connection, honest!) A couple of pics taken though not the best as I seem to have been a bit busy - driving :) pic1: pic2: First impressions: the car feels more tightly sorted than my departed but much loved GT -...

Plenty of choice of locations for Kent, I suspect somewhere with a decent sized car park who doesnt mind noise is a good start! Decent pub type venue would be good and if you want I could do some research on a place to suit - I would have thought that a centralish kent location could work...

I am based in Tunbridge Wells so a Kent meet may be of real interest. On the subject of GT 4.2's all I should say is that later today Maranello Egham will be getting mine back as a p/x -pic is my avatar and its a 2008 Oceano blue with Avorio hide and 24k miles. Not a clue what they will sell...

    Views sought on changing car

My thanks to forum members for very helpful input as always and I have gone and done it! The GT goes tomorrow and in return comes a GTS MC shift - no skyhook. I toyed with the auto version, but the mc shift appeals more in the end, even for when I do long cruising runs (as long as i dont...

I agree that the p/x seems good, but the car I was looking at to change to was also a tad expensive so I am back looking, even after pleading :( Had the GT since June last year and the lows have been few - one flat battery being the worst "car problem", a burst tyre being my worst "own...

I think you are right Adam - same skin different approach to the drive, but both can be civilised when needed - - but I was lost the second the GTS engine was fired up in "full bore" mode. I love the GT but I just want to taste the "S" extra :) Thanks for the tip to PM Dan

Definitely prefer the MC shift, though comments on hill starts in the forum make me wonder a little (but only a little) Current car owned outright and I am always a cash buyer - cant face paying people interest :)

The upgrade bug has hit, and I am looking to move on my '08 GT and go for a newer plate GTS. Apart from the clear insanity of spending any money in the current world I am torn as to whether to stick to my guns and insist on the new car having Skyhook or not. I admit that i find it does not...

    Maseratis - Spotted

How to get indigestion while spotting another maserati. Sitting in restaurant in Hove the other day having pleasant curry when a blue GT goes past, plate started with L but couldn't see the rest. All fine you would think, other than the fact that MY maserati is a blue GT with the plate...
