Well that dream crashed and burned - the engines aren't Euro 4 compliant and as of October I will live inside the ULEZ zone. It would cost me £12.50 to drive it every day. That isn;t going to work. That's actually a pretty long held dream crushed :(

I'm not talking about gearing either, I'm talking about torque. It pulled well from the low end even in top gear. I assumed 6th was a low gear but perhaps the intake manifold was just optimised for torque rather than top end power. How about I (and guys like me, I guess) modify what I want to?

Hello Peter :) It's an RS4 ragtop, last of the manual normally aspirated cars. I was told I could have a 4 seat car, with cruise, nav and heated seats for £15k for my work commute. Ka-pow! Amusingly, 'aspirated' autocorrected itself to 'exasperated' before I spotted it!

anyway, lets see if it's relisted. I'm a few weeks away from knowing. It''s the right colour and a great price. Plenty of scope for some mods on there. I added Formula Dynamics springs and wheels spacers onto mine, lowering and widening the car. It was transformed overnight.

I have had a manual couple and after 70k+ miles, it was a struggle to select second on a cold box. It was still useable, but no matter what the Emblem team tried with linkage adjustments and replacements, ultimately the synchro had probabl'y gone. This mileage seems ok so I'd hope it'd be good...
