I pay £80 for both GTI's. Agreed valuation on one of £15k and other £5k. Tax is about £179 per year BUT in two years the tin top will be tax free. Cars like this needn't be expensive to run.

I'd rather jump in my Golf GTI and drive at ten tenths than jump in my GTS and drive that the same. Maybe I'm getting old before my time but modern cars do very little for me.

No the CSL has risen more based on the rarity factor but I see CS edition and low mileage cars at 100k in 10 years yes.

Well until you own one and drive one you can't comment. I've owned three Golf GTI's and 4 3200's and the Golf has far superior build quality and is much less of a headache to own than the trident. Prices confirm this too. There is NO market for 3200 (super small) but for MK1 GOlf's the following...

CSL's (E46) already hit 100k for low milers a few years ago. Good low mileage CS cars will fetch a large premium. Can see a 10k mile CS certainly 5x its price in 10 years.

Won't happen imo. There are too many classics and organisations, parts, clubs who will keep these cars on the road. I pay more for tax on the classics than I do for the new cars...

I think you are a minority then looking at the demand at auction for the likes of Golf's, Pug 205's, GT/E's etc.... Ford RS Turbo... could go on.

Cars that should do well over the next 10years

Hot Hatches and modern classics is the place to be now. Nothing older or newer imo. So from say Late 70's (Golf mk1 era) to late 90's (maybe 00's but defo not 10's unless special eds like the Clubsport above). Porsche values have cooled off and rightly so. It's the nostalgia that is selling now...

Indeed and the ones' I was buying 5 years ago have mostly done that already so happy with holding onto mine for now. It's all speculative but cars above aren't particularly costly to maintain and keep.

Don't agree but hey that's what life's about. I've bought cars and spent little on them and still made money. Hot Hatches if bought at the right time will appreciate and cost nothing to insure, maintain and tax...
