Thanks all. Scent of a Woman bit was good, but for me, National Lampoon’s vacation… Christie Brinkley… I really like the 348 and glad I have the same engine, cambelt is not fun with engine in, but doable. Having said this, cambelt are never fun apart from on a Renault 21 - that took me 30 mins...

Yes, my neighbour works nights and she says she does not hear it, but I am pretty sure people three streets away do…

    Upper front Control Arm

Sorry, I should be more careful in use of word easy - plus my brain slowly reduces the memory of the pain over time! Yes I did change them. I used a different technique than some and did a video about it (post #61 here...

    Upper front Control Arm

I have seen some new genuine arms on eBay recently from Warsaw. If it is just the bushes, then they can be changed quite easily and cheaply. It’s only when the ball joints are gone that you need to change the arm. Often bad bushes make MOT testers think it is the ball joint too.

    Exhaust valves

That vacuum pump thing looks good. I have just fitted Gran Cabrio boxes to my 4.2 and although great, with no valve control they are bit too loud at times. I was going to install a vacuum line, but this might get me around it for now. I am struggling to find time lately to do anything.

    Ferrari Mondial T

Hi all, I have been a bit silent lately as I went and did something a bit silly and have found myself in a quagmire of issues and problems. Kind of got carried away a bit there… anyway just in case anyone is interested, this is my new project. By the way, the Maserati is staying firmly with me...

    GTS Handbrake

Try calling Bilstein UK. They rebuild their shocks. I heard that rebuilding a 348 shock costs £125+VAT which considering it is Bilstein, sounds good to me. H&R worked for me, but I have earlier adjustable spr8ng seat shocks so raised the car so that it was stock -5mm front and Stock - 20mm rear...

EPB and some other issues :)

Check you actuator in the hub is not seized - the one that the cable pulls on to push the brake shoes out to apply brake. Mine was seized and a bit of clean8ng and all was good again.

    Granturismo registration plate

V8 plates are cheap. Don’t forget that there is no legal size for a UK plate. It’s based on characters and spacing so if you have 5 characters, you can get a cut down plate. It does not even need to be a rectangle. Very useful on the front of the car.

Thanks very much! Here you go! I went the lazy route and drained the radiator and then flushed with clean water a couple of times before adding half the cooling system’s capacity of antifreeze and whatever extra in distilled water. I used distilled because we have very hard water here. Link is...

OEM carbon look vinyl wrap supplier

Always check price of new parts first though. Most of the eBay sellers charge more for damaged used parts than they would cost new.

Skyhook removal, coil spring change and upper wishbone bolts.

This is how I did mine: https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/a-video-about-fixing-my-2008-granturismo.38033/page-4 #61 I used small 1” 400kg ratchet straps to compress springs and blocks of wood with bricks to simulate the wheel and suspension under load. You can leave the jack on...

    Coolant

I used Shell Longlife with OAT, it is red which I liked as it matches with the red cam covers… I used deionised water mainly because I live in a very hard water area where you have to wipe down the shower after every use (that combined with my natural inclination to laziness has implications on...

A video about fixing my 2008 Granturismo.

Well I just never quite get this video uploading thing right… anyway after one false start here is another video. I finally fix that PO492 issue… which is good as she struggled through emissions on the MOT… I have literally just posted this and realised I have said PO491 on thumbnail and PO492...

    GTS EPB holding power adjustment

Just a slight thought, my EPB issues with warning light and ‘go to dealer’ illuminated, were caused by a seized actuator - bit if emery paper and grease and been great ever since (2 mots now)

Just a general video looking at costs over the year… like one of those episodes where they rehash previous scenes because the writers have gone on holiday… What is it actually like to own the V8 Maserati Granturismo? - Fixing the car and how much it costs…
