    F1 gearbox issues

No idea what all that stuff on codes mean. If it happens (or anything for that matter), I just book it in to Marios at Autoshield, knowing he will sort it. The same with the Porsche Turbo - goes straight to the indy to sort out. I read and hear if so many folk on the Porsche forum who 'have a...

    Granturismo maintenance NR Leeds

I recommend Marios at Autoshield in South Manchester. Easy access via M62/M60. Train connection good if need to leave car for work. If for the day, take the 85/86 bus into Piccadilly. It is opposite Autoshield at Chorlton Bus Station.

£5k Deposit to Inspect and Prep for Sale

Walk away. Have nothing to do with this outfit. No matter their reputation, just walk away.

    Maserati Insurance

Depends: Do you want specialist agreed valuation cover with freedom to take to a marque-approved repairer. Or Do you want a volume insurer based on market valuation and having to use their "Bob's Bodyshop" repairer?

    Prostate cancer

You need to change doctor. Your GP should be getting your BP to a target around 130/80 by switching the ACE inhibitor (ramipril) to another ACE inhibitor such as Lisinopril (titrated to 30-40mg) or switching to an ARB such as Candesartan (titrate to 32mg) and considering adding-in another agent...

    Prostate cancer

I won't get drawn into this subject because there are many complexities and challenges in confirming a diagnosis. My main points are: 1. Don't rely on GP time and assume they are up-to-date on this topic. 2. Recognise that you do not need a GP referral to a private specialist. You don't need...

    DISCOUNT FOR ACCIDENT DAMAGE

Kidney bowls, windscreen scuttle, all rot like ****. I know someone who bought a 964 (air cooled) for £65k about 8 years back. And at the first service was advised of all the rot and how badly it had been smartened for sale. He spent £45k on sorting out the rot. Then? He sold it for £50k...

    DISCOUNT FOR ACCIDENT DAMAGE

Probably pre-galvanised. Porsche cars at least the good ones, low mileage, strong service history and desirable specs such as manual gearbox are in high demand among the herd of dross cars out there.

    DISCOUNT FOR ACCIDENT DAMAGE

Walk away. It has not been repaired by a Porsche-approved repairer such as Road & Race restorations near Bolton or Chartwell in East Midlands. If it had been, they would have replaced entire panels and not messed around with welding in sections. Full list...

Affordable Independents for Variator Rattle fix? - 2008 GT 4.2 (early engine number)

I think the best course of action is Autoshield Maserati in south Manchester. As someone else posted, it is impossible to estimate the cost of a fix without seeing it and some dismantling. I don't know anywhere in the Midlands as I am based in Cheshire.

    Shifter not working

Where are you based? You can spend a lot of time trying one thing after another and still get nowhere. I recommend if you are in the Northwest that you have the car trailerd to Marios at Autoshield Maserati. Speak to him first and book it in. You seem to be going round in circles.

New Battery Recommendations for 2016 GT Sport

I just replaced the Porsche Turbo battery (Bosch S5) after eight years. It is connected to a CTEK charger all year whether on the road in summer or on SORN over winter. CTEK can be left safely connected. No need for timer or pulsed charging - despite what is peddled across different forums...

M139 GOING CRAZY WITH ALL LIGHS IN THE DASH ON-NEED HELP

Looks like you need to have it trailered to a specialist. I don't know where you are based, but I recommend Autoshield in South Manchester if you are anywhere near.

Looking for a Maserati GranTurismo 4.7

I recommend a chat with Richard Grace. Explore the spec and model that meets your requirement. Then leave it with him to source a good car for you. He knows where the good cars are. He puts them through an inspection at Marios in Autoshield Manchester and preps the cars based on that...

    A Last Ditch Attempt

The 996 Turbo is a superb car. In manual it is brilliant, though the ZF auto box suits the torque of the flat-six turbo. You'll pay a premium for a manual box car - most were two-pedal auto cars. But be very careful. There are a lot of very ropey high mileage poor examples needing many...

I recommend you speak to Dicky Grace near Chester. I bought my Gransport from him in 2016. All his cars are inspected by Autoshield Maserati in South Manchester and prepared based on that inspection. Richard will give you honest advice. He knows where the good cars are. I think your budget is...

    MSR - ASR Unavailable

Yes, a wheel bearing on its way out. Probably unlikely to be a warranty item - wear n tear clause. The ABS sender is a whole hub unit, not just the sensor. That makes it expensive to replace. As Matt says, "start saving". And if it's more than one on its way out, it's gonna cost.
