    Ghibli as a daily?

It is a wide car and feels it. Certainly more so than my 166 or 5 Series. Much better suited to the open road than navigating around town. If you can barely fit a Giulietta on the drive, the Ghibli probably won't work. Also, coming from a petrol to a diesel is a big change. Drive one and see how...

    Snows: Another Alfa Dealer Gone

As a long time Alfisti, even I question the point of Alfa. The Giulia was the best Alfa in ages, but sales have been dire. If they can't sell two door sports cars or four door sports saloons, there is no market for an Alfa. SUVs? How do you differentiate from the next blob? SUVs and EVs will...

Ghibli Diesel - Brake disc/pad replacement

Has anyone tried the Delphi rear disks from Autodoc ? Seems to be a massive saving compared to OEM. I did the fronts on a Ghibli diesel using OEM but rears are wearing low so just mulling over whether to go with Autodoc.

    OBD Reader

For the Percentage of Soot Mass, look in Live Data -> Dynamic Parameters. You can then save the report to view later.

    OBD Reader

You choose the first manufacturer for free. You can add subsequent manufacturers for something like £15 each. You have to renew the second manufacturer annually for a fee.

    New Member - QP IV

Definitely my favourite colour for the QP IV. Absolutely stunning vehicle. Such an elegant and simple design.

A Maserati for 20k miles a year..what would you recommend?

Are these usual diesel problems (DPF etc) or are they specific to this engine ?

Mercedes £174 per hour. Erm no

Most of the cars serviced at these dealers are likely to be four cylinder diesel or petrol engine cars. That is, nothing complex that a competent indy couldn't handle. Apart from warranty and bespoke issues requiring specialist tools, I can't fathom going to a dealer for a bog standard engine.

Looking to buy a used diesel - any advice?

I have a diesel. If your mileage is low and your use is infrequent, then petrol is the better option. The diesel is great for long journeys but a bit lumpy around town and noisy from cold. The DPF needs periodic cleaning otherwise it will throw errors. Long journeys mitigate this to a point as...

    Engine light

Bought my battery from Tayna (2014 Ghibli diesel). There are a couple of videos on YouTube that are helpful in replacing the battery. Probably took me 30 minutes with basic tools.

    Jaguar main dealer prices

It's all about the monthlies. I doubt many people buy a new BMW, Merc or Audi outright. Maybe for the high end stuff, but not for a 520d or likewise.

    Maseratis - Spotted

Saw a lovely blue Maserati Merak in Bramhall this afternoon. Plate was something like MER**. I should have followed it and taken a photo. Not seen many out in the open before. Also, I passed a Levante on the M60. Sorry but not as exciting as the Merak

    QP and Levente dropped

The inexorable shift towards SUVs has squeezed the market share for the likes of both Jaguar and Maserati. Maserati can't survive by selling SUVs, it's only point of differentiation being the badge. One SUV looks much like another. The saloon car market is shrinking rapidly, and Maserati has...

15 plate Ghibli diesel service costs

JHM have a fixed price service menu - see https://www.jmhauto.co.uk/maserati-fixed-price-servicing-menu/ It's not a complicated engine per se, so no reason why you couldn't get a trusted local garage to look after it.

    Ghibli Diesel due a service

My idler pulley went suddenly and I had this and the aux belt replaced together. I think it might be an idea to do both unless you have a record of this being done in the past five years. Also, if you do a search for Ghibli service kit, there are a number of suppliers who sell these.

The only model year 2023 QP Trofeo (apparently)

Here you are. £40k under list with only 5k on the clock. Looks epic. https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1693713

    Low Oil

Try 1L. Don't overfill when it comes to oil. The capacity is something like 7L so I'd guess 1-2L would suffice ? 5L would require really significant oil loss.

    Best battery

I used Tayna for my previous car, a BMW. Not replaced a battery in the Ghibli yet. A couple of YouTube videos suggest it is an easy DIY job on the Ghibli. The BMW required a code reader to pair the car to the new battery, but the Maserati looks like a simple replacement job.

    Best battery

I have used Tayna in the past, if you're OK to fit it yourself. https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/types/019-agm/
