A few of us on here like a little French car

Yes we wandered down le Champs Élisée from Étoile (happy memories of driving round that!) to where we thought that Renault were but there’s a refurb going on and we were sent onwards to Monique.

A few of us on here like a little French car

Bought our new R5 today - or rather a model of what’s on order. Monique in Boulevard Haussmann tells us they are selling v fast and new R4 and Twingo EV’s coming soon. New R5’s rare in Paris as the owners park them off the streets for safety:

10’ out of our hotel in Clichy and this rolls past - unusual with a sliding roof and on the road in Paris:

    Pic of the day

Certainly is. Although locally is was known then as the English Electric - P1Those twin RR Avons shook our school as they climbed away from Warton aerodrome to break the sound barrier - occasionally dropping into the Ribble or the Irish Sea.

    Electric Cars Still Struggling.

Taxed the Renault Zoe today even though the tax was valid for several months. A quirk of the system defers the payment of £165? For another 12 months. A bit moot really as a replacement - a new R5 - is due sometime in April and it’s the green one.

Lotus XI - that rang a bell until I looked at my files and ‘wrong’! We machined a couple of differential casings and drum brake mounts for Lotus IX’s. Went to the ‘States I think:

1991 BiTurbo Spyder E 2.8 auto- Time to sell

One exactly like this used to flash past us in our Alfa E33 - school bound in the ‘90’s - on the Odiham to Upper Hale road - always wanted a Maserati from then on! Anyone on here?

A few of us on here like a little French car

Well the Architect has dumped his Tesla and is getting delivery in March. Harry’s review very good - R5 looks a bit like an upgraded Zoe in a nice suit - designers on the money unlike that excuse for a Capri from Ford. Will look out for them in Paris in a week or so - almost as exciting as...

    Headlamp washer covers

Does anyone have the contact for this chap (Shiftmotoring) as I am interested in asking for the 3D print files. I see no link in his post and my access shows no contact info. Failing that I have my RH version to copy. Looks like I will be printing some soon, I hope

    Headlamp washer covers

Now I have a pair of new covers - much more robust - from Octoclassic. Pulled out the spray bars to find that the lh bar is missing the clip to which the cover attaches. Does anyone supply these?

    Locking Wheelnut

One of our local garages had a customer’s mullered locking wheelnut ( sheared courtesy of a ham-fisted well-known tyre ‘specialist’) - “could we help?” “Bring it round and we’ll take a look.” J*m*s came round with wheel attached to stub axle, disc etc. Drill no help so stuck it up on the mill...

    Headlamp washer covers

Never realised we had headlamp washers on the Spyder (should have RTFM fully) - I suppose mostly driving in good daytime conditions we rarely fired them. Matt noticed that one cover was fixed and so non-functional which has escaped 6 MOT tests ( an interesting side issue!) Apparently fully...

What have you done to your Maserati today?

Spyder in the Peak District over the NY. Drove past the Cat & Fiddle on the A537 to Macclesfield in a near whiteout. Now outside Glasgow for a while - hoping the snow clears for the return to sunny Wilts. Will need a v good wash with all that salt and sh1t on our winter roads…
