Agreed - which is the problem. If take NI for instance- we we could be certain the money was split between say pensions (for those that pay NI) social care / NHS (for those that contribute) many, including me, would happily pay more. But as you say and the point I made about car tax, is it’s...

To be honest my gripe about car tax is that it goes into the general taxation pot and it not actually reserved for maintaining and improving roads and road infrastructure.

A couple of inches of snow in my part of Hertfordshire, but it’s quickly melting and there is drizzle in air. Just out for coffee and then I plan to dig the little Panda 4x4 out and take a drive up a few green lanes. They are not in anyway challenging, but it’s fun educating the dog walkers...
