EV advise from any users please!

He works with me but given the demand we ought to revise our parking to free the point - after all the EV owners are helping to pay our electric bill.

Sometimes it’s a stretch to get to our 22kW workplace charger. Now very popular in this charging desert:

Hmmm… when we saw them in Wandsworth a while ago, this below was the gig at ca £400. But I see now that sense prevails and metering is in the post, thus allowing dumb leads to be used.

Best thing this at -6C week? Activate EV Zoe preconditioning on my phone; kit up and outside to de-ice my Renault diesel van. By the time I have started van and am attacking the side windows with scraper the Zoe is ice free and windscreen steaming! Wee Woman toastie and grateful off for her...

Same in Hungerford. Low powered and inaccessible. Plus you need an expensive bespoke lead to use the lamppost types.

    Differences between UK and USA

Is it true that Canada has more guns per head of population than the USA but nothing like the level of killings in the USA?

    Touching up.

Could anyone recommend a good supplier of touch-up kits for an early Spyder from the paint code? Bought one a while ago and the colour was way off. Tried search on touch[-][up] but too many odd returns.

Stuff you've found on TV worth watching

Watching the snooker Masters Final - two left handlers at 7:7 just now; Trump and Williams. Always reminds me of Ted Lowe’s classic 60’s commentary "and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green."

    Pic of the day

…. and suddenly we youth all started buying cheap MkII Jaguars, P4 Rovers, all the Austin Wolseley etc 3ltr lumps and even an Austin Vanden Plas 4-litre R from which I still have the RR badge from the front of the engine.

    Gearbox Filter Stuck

I would try a tap 2mm larger than the filter ID. I have a spare filter somewhere as my local people dare not take out the old one (not SI I should add). I will see if it is handy and measure it.

    Covered registration plates when selling?

Several years ago I sent the Wee Woman’s Busso Lusso to valet parking at LHR. A few weeks later a letter came from Thames Valley police asking us what we knew about our personalised car reg being seen somewhere in West London. I was asked not to contact the parking people and heard no more...

    Covered registration plates when selling?

I would hope that the DVLA I would be looking for ANPR duplicates too close in time for the distance apart for real and clones.

    Gearbox Filter Stuck

I would use a tap (second or plug for ‘bite’) wound in just enough to hold but not too far to jam the filter - then ease out carefully if you can by levering.

They are all catching up: Tesco/Podpoint/VW - 400 installs; Waitrose in Marlborough and elsewhere; Booths too - Instavolt in Lytham and elsewhere; Lidl/Aldi? Honiton and new store in Exeter. Incidentally it looks like theAldi/Lidl manager in Exeter May have an Aston - parked discretely many times

What ya listening to now ???

Victor Lewis Smith left us in Dec last year. Brilliant and subversive; wrote for Private Eye. Radio regular in 80’s & 90’s. Nearly wet myself listening again to his “Nuisance Calls” on Spotify.

who worries about putting miles on their car?

The reason why the Spyder will not see tarmac for a while is the torrential rain and the state of the roads. Several miles before we get to decent A roads. Local landmarks like the Burbage ‘Lake’ on the B3087 have series of thoughtfully placed traffic cones in them to indicate the deeper hidden...
