Driving through France soon

In two weeks time I'll be driving down to Toulon. I'll be through the tunnel by about 5pm, so will then drive south for maybe 150 miles or so. Does anyone have a recommendation on somewhere to eat/stay-the-night in that approximate area of France? Doesn't have to be something amazing, just not rubbish.

Also, I'll be towing a trailer (carrying my old Landie). At motorway toll booths, do I still go through the usual car barrier, or as it's long, do I have to go in a special lorry/caravan lane? Never done this before, so a bit clueless!

You’ll need to go in the lane without the height restriction. Keep remembering that! I’ve seen some go into a barrier with bicycle once.

If you plan to go directly to Toulon by the highways, I advise you to cross the Paris region after 8 p.m. and before 7:30 a.m so to better drive South Paris on the incoming day. I am used to the Ibis Budget or Ibis hotels, simple, clean, efficient on the highways clusters. Paris-Toulon takes a 8 hours drive (depending on the day ;) ). Beware of the day time when you go through Lyon, it is quite busy.

I might pass you in the tunnel !

If i can get the TPS in time we were going to follow the Grand Tour route to the circuit at Croix en Ternois and then down to Honfleur. It goes without saying we will not be driving on the beach and in the sea !!!

We're in Lyon at the moment, arrived last night at approximately 8pm and it was very busy on the main routes near the centre.
