3200 ABS ECU

Does anyone know of a source for a new / used ABS ECU, I tried Mike Roberts but he does not have any at the moment although he may have some later this year. I would be a shame to have to break the car for parts but the non availability of these items means it may happen more and more.

Thanks I have sent a message. There is one advertised as new in the USA but I am sceptical as they never sold the 3200 in the USA to the best of my knowledge.

Well I just had a message from Eurospares and they say that they can get one on special order in 10-14 days, I will update this thread when (if) I receive it.

I have just had a request to go to Germany later this month on business and my customer there has given me details of a reputable company that say they can repair the Bosch ABS ECU used in the 3200. Does anyone have a faulty ECU and valve block I can take over to see the results ( I am happy to pay for it ) ? I would take mine but I have a few months left on the MOT and want to use the car until either the MOT expires or I get a working ECU

I am making progress on the ABS ECU issue and in addition to the ECU repair company in Germany I am also in conversation with Bosch Germany, both say they can repair 5.3 ABS ECU's at a very reasonable price but require the exact Bosch part number and fault codes, I cannot see a label on mine, does anyone have the part number ?

Also they require the exact ECU fault codes, I did take mine into a specialist last week to have the codes read but the Maserati technician was out on a call, they did read the codes but could not tell me what the issue was and needed to get advice from the other tech. I have chased them up but am getting no response. Can any garage with a good diagnostic tool read and understand the codes, it is a 2002 model with the later diagnostics port.

Do these photos help? I don't know what the fault codes were but ABS fault codes kept coming up on dash when reset using SD2 and I was told ECU fried.
I managed to obtain a unit from another member who fortunately had a spare. Label on side of ABS is from my 2000 ABS ECU.

Great, thanks. The address on that parts label is the same as the people I am in conversation with so it looks promising

Ok thae saga continues, Bosch say they can repair the ECU but need the exact fault codes before accepting the repair. I took the car into a specialist last week and was told the ECU was faculty but they have not given me the codes that were read despite repeated requests (I did pay for the service), can ECU faults be read on standard diagnostic equipment ? Once I have the codes I can send the unit off and will hopefully then be able to confirm a source of repair that is very reasonably priced.

If your car is pre OBD-II (MY00/01) then you need a SD2/SD3 tester and directly plug it in the three pin diagnostic port next to your ABS pump.
The last cars made with OBD might have access trough the OBD socket but that isn't always the case. (then the still have the 3 pin connectors for non emissions items)

Anyway 5.3 ASR does give odd sensor issues on the circuit-board I've seen them fail like that before, (5.7 has the notorious pressure errors 4200GT and early QPV)
Also pinched wires coming from wheel sensors is common.

I should still have 3200GT ABS blocks in stock, but i'd suggest trying to have bosch repair yours first

Hi all reader of this thread. I had issues with my ABS failing prematurely twice. I replaces rear abs sensor rings. 80 quid. Cleaned from. Check all wheel sensors. Finally I worked for a Mercedes dealer who had an account with Bosch. I have had three units repaired by them in Germany. Sold two units. Currently I have on in bosch but it has become more complicated either customs since brexit. After 2/3 week it has finally been released and arrived at bosch this week. I await contact from them as to whether it can be repaired. If OK it will be available. Cheers
