A long shot...

My mother, who is slowly loosing her marbles and who will be 90 next year has or is giving up driving (phew). Her present 4x4 jalopy is (by design), not going to pass its MOT in July, bringing things to a head.

She is in Buxton and those who know will understand it is rather hilly and she particularly wants to still be able meet her friends for walks on Grin Low.

The long shot is wondering if anyone has a redundant heavy terrain type mobility scooter/buggy?

Happy to collect or use the SM underground :)

Cheers Phil, it is the finding what she needs that is becoming noticeably more arduous for her these days and that is only going to get worse! She is still at the 'happily confused' stage but it is horrible to see the progression.

Newton, did your mother or father ever serve in the police or UK armed forces?
There's a reason for what may appear to be an unrelated question ;)

Well my thanks to @MAF260 of this parish in supplying the machine, I serviced it, replaced the batteries and with my lad Alex went over the electrical bits and it is fully ready for duty with 26Ah batteries (the OEM are only 20Ah) so expecting an extended range of about 18 miles! I doubt mother will get beyond a couple of miles each way before she runs out of pavement and suitable roads.

If anyone hears of an all terrain scooter up for grabs, please let me have a shout at it.

My pleasure, mate - you do so much for others, it's good to pay forward. I'm so happy to see a pic of your mum with her new wheels - who'd have thought she'd get an EV before you!
