I know some of you on here are serial Maserati owners, but do any of you remember the anticipation and the buzz you felt when buying your first one...? My current buzz is yet to die down, I woke up this morning thinking about, Ghiblis, QPVs and 4200GTs :).

Still have the buzz, only need a glance out of the window. Really hoping to have the 3200 back with valid MOT before the summer has passed.

Had the birdcage rims refurbed and the color changed to "cromio" as the color chart at AutoJantesRenov called it. Wasn't sure how it would look but it matches the chrome trim, door handles, exhaust tips, etc and I like it.

Also gave her a home detail using a rupes bigfoot 15 with rupes products, and then a coat of AutoGlym UHD Wax. It is shocking what a difference it made. Took me the better part of 2 days.

1968 Monaco Grand Prix : Graham Hill, Lotus-Ford 49B, Gold Leaf Team Lotus, Winner.

Johnny Servoz-Gavin took the lead from Hill at the start, while Bruce McLaren took out the other Lotus of Jackie Oliver at the chicane on the first lap. Servoz-Gavin was struck by bad luck on lap 3 when he suffered a drive shaft failure and crashed. This set the tone for the rest of the race, when after a series of accidents and mechanical failures, only five cars finished the race, with everyone from 3rd-place finishing at least four laps down on eventual winner Hill, who cemented his reputation as "Mr. Monaco" by taking his fourth win in the principality. It was however a close finish, with BRM replacement Richard Attwood surprising by finishing just 2 seconds behind the Englishman. Even though Hill broke the Monaco lap record three times during the race, it was Attwood who ultimately recorded fastest lap, the only one of his career. This would also be his one and only podium finish at a Formula One race, just as for Belgian Lucien Bianchi, who finished third.

Disaster would strike Formula One again just two weeks later as fourth-placed Ludovico Scarfiotti was killed during the Rossfeld hillclimb event. (ph: Motorsport, Report: Wikipedia)

Nice one Phil, that reads / sounds like one of 'Jenks' GP reports, I still enjoy delving into my old Motorsport mags over a cuppa or a beer. Old Jenks didn't pull any punches either, he always said what was on his mind whether it be about the circuits, the teams or the individual drivers. By an odd coincidence, my neighbour who's house backs onto mine is the spitting image of him and is a proper petrolhead to boot.

Monza in 1975 with Clay and Nicki out front....
