It seems if you're coming back from Germany via the tunnel and you don't stop to talk to johnny foreigner on the way you don't need to self isolate , so how does that work then , tena pants and automated pumps

How on earth would they check if Karen and Dave let chantelle out for a pee on the way back from Germany , lie detector

Just under 9,000 for us here in France no deaths put up yet.
Makes you wonder if it's down to the Summer holidays ?

No doubt as Scotland and Wales have put quarantine in place for people coming back from various countries, when England follows suit there will be baying for Government blood for not giving enough notice.

Wow the numbers in Spain nearly 10,500 new cases and 184 deaths.
France not doing much better mate, already topped the daily record set back in March. But in both countries it’s very regional, certain areas of Spain and France are safer than some areas in the UK. Depends on where you are living, but there are tossers in every area who don’t think the rules apply to them. And you can not blame tourists in either country, France or Spain. The local population seem to be the the ones who have let their guard down. I’m not saying tourists have not contributed, but not the root cause of the escalation.

I read cases are increasing but deaths are low because it's young people that are spreading it but they're not dying.

Herd immunity though the back door ?

The vulnerable are less at risk because they know what to do now

It's definitely had a mental effect on a lot of people , when out walking I regularly see pensioners zig zagging to keep their distance from other people but not just a few feet , stepping into the road

We stayed in a hotel in york a few weeks ago but it wasn't an enjoyable weekend with all the rules so I'm going to look at a motorhome on Monday just so we can do our own thing.

We stayed at a hotel in Norfolk last month and it was actually lovely. I guess it depends on how each establishment apply the rules.

There are plenty of worried people out there. If they should be worried, only time will tell. I'm getting progressively less worried as time goes on. Or possibly more stupid as I get older ;)

Flying home from Jersey today, lovely hotel, lovely weather and break.
Checking out, discovered that if anyone is tested positive on the flight over (everyone is tested on arrival at the airport), they are put into isolation in a hotel at the expense of the Jersey government for two weeks. What they don't tell you is that those sitting upto 5 rows in front and behind are also put into isolation even if tested negative on arrival. One flight last week a guy was so bad with his infection they put the whole plane incl. crew and pilots into isolation for two weeks before they could leave.
Don't think we would have risked it if we had known that our test on arrival was also dependent on another 60 people also being tested free.
At least flying home, everyone should have been tested recently!

surely if the costs involved are so significant and he was that bad a simple temperature check before he boarded the plane in the UK would've seen him kicked off, are they really not doing temperature checks before you board the plane

Nope!
Now just discovered that anyone flying in from Manchester have to self isolate on the island for 5 days. A week earlier and that would have killed our holiday.

Well one decision appears to be clear.
Don’t vote for an Mp.
Vote for a scientist just now.....they’re making the decisions ( and globally they are all following different stats!)
Just like the so called 4 devolved govts ! Causing total and utter confusion by all acting differently. Complete and utter
bo$$ocks. If you ask me. Time Boris and his merry troop addressed the 'elephant in the room'; either ditch the whole concept of having devolved govts and act as one UK again, or in the words of FleetwoodMac "go your own way".

Anyone holidaying outside the UK is really taking a chance this year
I was listening to the BBC yesterday , people have spent a fortune trying to get back from Portugal to England before the government announcement than never came
If 3 people land in the UK from the same destination in Portugal on the same plane , one English, one Scottish and one Welsh the Welsh and Scottish have to go straight home and isolate for 14 days but the English one can go shopping but can't visit Scotland or Wales for 2 weeks

It's no wonder people are ****** off
