She runs! After probably 10 years this ZXR750L1 will now move under its own steam.
I bought it as a project 6 years ago and have moved twice, changed jobs once, poor excuses I know. But on Sunday, I took it for a few tentative laps of the close.

That is old Skool Cool

Bring them round. I'm happiest in the garage tinkering at the moment.

Did a little more last night, drained the coolant and filled with a radiator flush and water mixture. Temperature gauge works, not sure about the thermostat as boiled kettle water isn't hot enough. However I found the fan wouldn't work do to a blown fuse. I'll get it warmed up again tonight, drain again and fill with fresh coolant.

I'd guess your thermostat is broken as it really should have opened at boiling temperature (90-95 is normal). Good news is that it is a cheap and easy part to replace - especially as you are draining the coolant anyway.

^^^^ This ^^^^

A cheap part so why not replace it and forget about it. If it has been sitting all that time it is likely failed anyway.

The new quickshifter for my MV Agusta has just turned up so will be spending a bit of time in the man cave later setting that up and trying to adjust the rearsets so at least some blood can flow to my toes :)

A little more done today, the coolant system all checked out. The thermostat is clearly working as is the temperatures gauge and the fan switch. One thing I noted is that if the engine is too hot, it'll keep the fan on until cool even with the ignition off.

Some of you may have noticed that I've now got an exhaust extraction system fitted in the garage so I can run it without gassing myself.
Here it is in detail.

Have come across this here on my door step in a guys kitchen having a cuppa after making some brake pipes for him.
Any idea of a value.
It's a 96 Honda RS 250 Race Bike.
Up and running just sitting there.
Just trying to work out if I can earn a few shillings.74273
